So he told me he likes anime with "high school" setting and at that point I'm just thinking "well lucky you... that's like 95% of all anime!" and facepalmed a little inside my mind.
Long story short I ended up making him watch K-ON and he likes it! Making him watch it wasn't intended. I just asked about wether he's into that kind of highschool-anime or whatever else kind of school-anime. I mean could have been Highschool DxD for all I've known, right? And he ended up watching that of all things (K-On that is). Any recommendations for someone whos still somewhat new to anime but likes K-ON? I know he watched Sword Art Online, MoeBoats and K-ON. That's it. ///Actually he watched Evangelion and Clannad as well/// I was mostly thinking of Ufo and Lucky Star (even though never watched it myself) so far. Maybe Non Non Biyori or is that too hard on sol? Oh and So Ra No Wo To because he likes MoeBoats and School and moe and I guess sol.
Any other ideas? gotta say im surprised no one's mentioned Oregairu yet, maybe people here dont like it? but considering the stuff he's watched, might as well give him Angel Beats, Hibike!Euphonium and something like Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun i suppose

Kino no Tabi ep5: The part about working with the rail road etc. was bloody brilliant. This show is so damn great.

^^ I think I'll start with the second cour soon'ish.

I watched like 5 episodes of school days and kept waiting for it to get good but it never did. Edit: wait I think I never watched school days I was thinking of school rumble. Neither are worth watching imo
& why the fuck are you telling people to watch disappearance of nagato yuki instead of haruhi suzumiya???? that's like telling people to watch those spinoff code geass movies instead of the actual show (ugh I wanted a clever simile but this was the best I could come up with)
oregairu's good!! Can't blame people for forgetting about some good highschool slice of life anime from the dozens (hundreds?) that exist though.

Not really similar to what he has watched but If someone is new might as well watch some actual good shows. Some non battles / adventure ones I can think of:
Uchuu Kyoudai Ouran Nodame Haibane Renmei Dennou Coil Uchouten Kazoku Honey & Clover Paradise Kiss Eve no Jikan Marimite

Zaregoto anime announced. Wasn't saikyou.

Uta, kaze, and eca should like this. Lololololololol Even has shiogi-chan right on the website

Prob shaft but might be white fox again, which I prob prefer. Hope for Miyukichi Jun and Shizuka gozen Asamo
Though my guess would be anime gonna be pretty trainwreck with voice trap. Densetsu prob work better for anime.

Kind of surprised that it's actually getting an anime, but I can't complain.
Yet.

I would assume he checked it out and didn't quite like it or he just picked K-ON out of all the things I asked him about to gauge his interest and ignored the rest, idk.
I also told him to watch Gakkou Gurashi because it's a highschool setting and really easy to watch for someone new to anime while being really good for a quick 12 episode show imo. Just to see if he's into those more grim dark things but haven't heard back on that either.

Shouldn't make a judgement call on School Days though without watching it. If you did manage to watch an episode or two and couldn't bear it, then that's different ^^

School Days is an anime about a war between good and evil, about one hero of justice on a quest to save a man who is living the dream from the master of all evil, at any cost.
|
Its just a below average drama that only got attention because of its ending. Not really worth wasting time on.
|
That's not really fair, considering how many people in this thread waste their time on below average harems that only get attention for no reason.
|
boobs pretty good reason
btw Neptunia 7 apparently is being released on Steam for PC as well, so I'll see if I can get it. Not quite sure if I have to play everything else before that though. I still only have the first two
|
Neptunia Vee Two, not seven, silly Toad. I don't know that storyline is that important for Neptunia games, but it follows the general storyline from Mk2 and V (or Rebirth 2 and Rebirth 3 if you are going that way). Also, Big Nep is a miracle of the universe.
|
i enjoyed school days quite abit, has actual progress and things happen in it unlike most harem/rom shows
|
I still remember being in there like... maybe 7 episodes and almost falling asleep. Incidentally when I asked in irc when this turns funny or when something's going to happen I happened to be at the beginning of the school festival episode. So it was like 5 minutes after I asked the question that stuff got weird.
