We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. Being a 'half good - half bad' thing is just so lame, feels more like Tokyo Ghoul with survival aspects. Lame as fuck. The mother scene in SnK ep1 felt so much more intense than anything Kabaneri has to offer. Then the 'strong female character' is also pretty much juiced out already, can't beat Mikasa. Just no man....
Straight up bad and I am not even going to continue.
So I am looking for any other recommendations, I don't mind the topic. Any immersive animes this season? Being half good and half bad sums up SnK's quality almost perfectly, though.
I haven't watched Kabaneri so didn't want to say anything but it felt like he was describing SnK perfectly to me lol.

Any immersive animes this season? Join the re:zero hype train Yup! Agreed. Sousei no Onmyouji / Twin Star Exorcists is disappointing me a little. Apparently the anime adaption isn't good and is adding filler stuff, like the annoying (!!!) pet from Benio which is neither cute nor useful in any way doesn't exist in the manga. + Show Spoiler [Episode 5] +Or Rokuro still being afraid of fighting cuz of his past and acting like a wuss, which he should have overcome already. Most of the scenes in this episode were anime original according to the MAL thread and while I didn't hate it, I'm sure it could be a lot better. Also agree with Sent. I like both Kabaneri and SnK for the action and animation quality, but they both definitely have flaws.
I think it depends on how long this show will run. There are like 30 chapters out but If this is 4 cours as rumoured, then fillers are necessary since the manga itself just zips through everything really quickly.
|
That's true, MAL and some other sites seem to think it's only 1 cour though. Still no reason to add that shitty pet. I could live with it if it was similar to the pet (or spirit iirc) of Emilia from ReZero. Or anything really, it's the worst pet I've seen in anime.

question for a friend of mine who recently started watching anime and found out that I'm kind of a weeb myself. So he told me he likes anime with "high school" setting and at that point I'm just thinking "well lucky you... that's like 95% of all anime!" and facepalmed a little inside my mind.
Long story short I ended up making him watch K-ON and he likes it! Making him watch it wasn't intended. I just asked about wether he's into that kind of highschool-anime or whatever else kind of school-anime. I mean could have been Highschool DxD for all I've known, right? And he ended up watching that of all things (K-On that is). Any recommendations for someone whos still somewhat new to anime but likes K-ON? I know he watched Sword Art Online, MoeBoats and K-ON. That's it. ///Actually he watched Evangelion and Clannad as well/// I was mostly thinking of Ufo and Lucky Star (even though never watched it myself) so far. Maybe Non Non Biyori or is that too hard on sol? Oh and So Ra No Wo To because he likes MoeBoats and School and moe and I guess sol.
Any other ideas?

Hyouka is pretty good if you into that kind of thing. SYD is just good fun idk what the emnjay comment is meant to mean.

I honestly considered hyouka to be awfully boring. Only finished it because chitanda and the pretty animation. The mysteries were all boring and the only maybe somewhat good mystery was the + Show Spoiler +movie one, the cultural festival episode was also decent And for what it's wroth, i'm into and tend to like mystery series a lot :/ Also the final episode was ruined by the final scene. What a garbage cop-out.

Pretty good manga bundle on humble bundle where they try to interest people in series with the first few volumes. + Show Spoiler +Pay what you want for Space Brothers Vol. 1, Vinland Saga Book 1, Inuyashiki Vol. 1, Parasyte Vol. 1, and Attack on Titan Vol. 1.
Pay more than the average price to also receive The Heroic Legend of Arslan Vol. 1, Ajin: Demi-Human Vol. 1, Inuyashiki Vol. 2, Parasyte Vol. 2, and Attack on Titan Vol. 2.
Pay $17 or more for all of that plus Battle Angel Alita: Last Order Omnibus Vol. 1, The 7 Deadly Sins Vol. 1, Knights of Sidonia Vol. 1, Ajin: Demi-Human Vol. 2, and Attack on Titan Vol. 3.
Made me get Attack on Titan to read the manga and compare it to the anime. So had some effect at least. Space Brothers anime was great so that manga might be worthwhile as well.

No its not, but Chitanda is super annoying and super cute at the same time.

Going just from my CR & Funi queue... and not naming what I've already seen...
Ore Monogatari* Yamada-Kun* Re-Kan The Pet Girl of Sakurasou Angel Beats* Ultimate Otaku Teacher Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan (even if I wouldn't recommend Haruhi until later) My Teen Romantic Comedy Snafu (S1, maybe S2 though it gets heavy) Nisekoi Toradora Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu Hayate the Combat Butler*
*may not apply
You could have killed off any hope of him enjoying anime, though, with School Days.

Did you not just see what I wrote immediately above?

I finished the first cour of Durarara s2 yesterday. I don't know why this gets so much flak as compared to s1. I thought it was just as good as s1 with the same typical flaws as well.
