Fake tension and cliffhangers are a tool for shows who are not confident enough in their ability to keep the audience hooked through good characters, story or writing in general. Kabaneri probably cant produce blood so they need to eat it or something. The situation they were in where they were stuck in a cart for the rest of the trip alone together she figured they'd not run into a situation where MC would be stabbed and bleed out when she wasn't there. And Mumei clearly isn't the caring, mentor-type more of a 'my pace' type of character so probably just focused on training him so he could act as a shield for her and be useful, possible tool?, to accomplish her mission | ||

It is a really interesting franchise that really draws you in. The characters are great, the plots are pretty solid, and can provoke some thoughts on various subjects if you so desire. Will be neat to see the manga version of the major and to also have more information through the walls of text that the author apparently likes to use. | ||

Also, in case anyone is wondering where all the "wtf" is from Trigger this season - they stuffed it into Luluco. Fortunately, it's a short, so things not making any sense doesn't cause aneurysms. ... + Show Spoiler [Lost Village] + Seriously, suspension of disbelief is getting tougher to maintain because, of all the bad things happening, everyone's like "NO U!" while Lovepon is sitting there going totally frustrated psycho yandere kill everything repeatedly while the harshest reaction is "Oh, Lovepon..." Forget Jack, Worthless MC, eccentric girl - Lovepon is over the top red-herring worthy psycho and everyone just kindof shrugs and starts running Mafia around her outbursts. Also, Lion-san awesome. | ||

I won't really link but from what I know, he did SnK, A/Z, Guilty Crown, Kill la Kill, Nanatsu no Taizai, Ao no Exorcist, Owari no Seraph and he's doing Kabaneri now and i really like his compositions so that's just my personal preference towards OSTs involving him as a composer. | ||
