lol, see, i am always a fair critic, i love to give some (strong) benefit of doubts etc,#1-4 were chaotic but at least they were 'mysterious' to me, now #5 is just taking the piss lol. low budget, shitty script, 0 likeable characters with extremely outdated tropes. i just hope that it would go so bad to the point that i would be impressed by how bad it is.

prepare for more stories like that, one of them will hit your tear gland one way or another. dangggg, and then in the end lets see which side you root for lol.
the appearance of jotaro: araki is the only mangakan i know who manages the 'inheritance of the next generation' perfectly, well, nothing is perfect but it is very objectively satisfying for me anyway haha. platinum star doesnt seem to be that strong now though....
+ Show Spoiler +but don't worry he will be uber strong back in JoJo6

man I should do my research when gifting things I don't know shit about
never read or done any VNs whatsoever so I saw, and I quote
[23:21:18] <Toad|> "You can touch the catgirls boobs and they will react different to that [23:21:18] <Toad|> 11/10" as a review on steam for this (btw, it's like 4.50 atm Numy *winkwink*): + Show Spoiler [pic] +![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/osCz0AF.png) (that pic should be fine, right?)
So obviously I thought that makes for an amazing gift for emnjay to return the favor. But not only did I screw up in getting vol0 instead, which seems to be a prequel to the main thing. It also has no lewd because Steam!
|
iirc there's a patch that returns all the lewd to the steam version
Edit: apparently there is no/very little h-scenes in vol 0? I never played or touched neko para so i don't actually know if that's true but that's what i'm finding from a quick google search. There's definitely patches for the lewd content in vol 1 and 2 though. https://imouto.club/
|
Nekopara is old news Toad, Neo already gave me rundown of it's glory awhile back. I thought you were one of the king weebs here. Man what's going on. No lewds no point. Steam needs to shape up man. They let kids gamble in their games but can't show sweet ass catgirl action wtf. More lewds less violence and the world would be a better place!@
@Sera - I'm hyped man. Jojo is so fun. It's like a perfect mix of camp and serious.
|
tbh, I don't think the lewd is what's giving them issues but more so the fact that nothing in there is 18+
|
So yeah i guess if you want you can get all the cat girl action you want on steam, assuming you're willing to go out of your way and patch it back in.

Since this is a fairly slow season for me and because I've been down with some illness, I managed to work on my backlog; I finished "Rainbow:Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin" and "Gungrave"... and oh boy was I disappointed by both series, especially considering the many positive reviews and recommendations that I read.
Rainbow:Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin If I had to sum up the entire series with a short statement, I would probably read like this: "The series tries so hard to be dark and cynical, that the story and characters have to make room for unnecessary drama". It goes so much out of its way to give the characters as hard a time as possible, that it becomes completely silly and, ultimately, predictable. In the end it's just a giant chain of misfortune-fortune-misfortune-fortune-misfortune-fortune and the worst part about it is that it doesn't even make sense at times, just so that they can keep up that chain of events like that. The story of Joe (from the 2nd part of the show) is a great example: + Show Spoiler [major spoiler] +]He finds a job in the music industry -> he is only allowed to carry around equipment -> due to some freak accident he gets the chance to sing for another band -> the other band that hired him to carry their equipment does not want him to sing and threaten to maim him if he continues -> he meets an agent that wants to help him establish himself as a singer -> she wants sexual favors in return -> he slowly finds success in singing -> the old band tries to stop him from singing once more -> the agent turns out to be part of the yakuza and the old band flees the scene -> the old band someone decides to ignore the yakuza and attacks him and his agent anyway -> Joe has met some other nice musician and his son -> the musician gets shot -> the son manages to escapes to look for Mario -> he stumbles and loses the note with the address -> out of all the persons to pick up that note, it's Mario -> Joe is supposed to sing at a festival, so time is running out -> Mario and friend enter the scene in the last possible second -> the agent runs and informs the Yakuza instead of the festival -> the Yakuza sub-boss gives them their car to race to the festival -> the festival is already over and the Yakuza agent decides to drop him because it's obviously his fault -> the friends convince Joe to sing anyway and he finds his long-lost sister because of this. As you can see it's just the same thing over and over and over and over again. Fortune followed my misfortune, followed by fortune and so on. And the same is true for almost every single character in the show except for the soldier who gets no proper development at all. And in order to achieve those chains of fortune-misfortune they go out of their way to bend the entire story and characters around it, even if it doesn't make any sense whatsoever. The evil people in the show are mostly evil because the story needs more hardships for the main characters, not because they would have a legitimate reason to be evil at all. I simply cannot understand why this show is so insanely high ranked on MAL and has such amazing reviews. While watching the show I was constantly wondering 2 things: 1. What kind of nonsensical turn of events do they come up with next? 2. Does the show end on a high or low for the characters? And those were the only thoughts it ever evoked.
Gungrave There is... really not much to say about this show. It's just your regular run-of-the-mill mafia flick with the only twist being that the obligatory "betrayal and revenge" arc at the end is mostly filled with supernatural nonsense. It had very weak dialogue that mostly consists of the characters repeating their own and each others name as well as the name of their organization over and over again. Of course it didn't help that the characters were using english names with japanese voice actors struggling to pronounce those monstrosities. A good example of a statement that a character towards the end would say is this: "That man, Beyond the Grave... no, Brandon Heat is after our Boss, Harry MacDowel. We have to stop him for the sake of our organisation, Millennion, and our boss, Harry MacDowel. I, Bear Walken, will see to it. " I am not even kidding, this is regular dialogue and it made me reconsider whether watching the subbed version was such a good idea. The animation was lazy, the art was bleak and lacking in detail, even for a 2003 show. The city doesn't feel like a city at all, more like a ghost town that is filled with gangsters only. Fights usually consist of still images with some flashy lines signalling that some serious shit is happening. Even worse, at times during crucial fights the camera would just zoom out or pan away to show some birds flying away or nonsense like that. The proportions of the characters were all over the place, sometimes even varying from shot to shot. Standard shounen quality of that time period, I suppose. In any case, there was simply nothing positive about that show that I could think of.
Is there anything major that I missed in those 2 shows? Because what I have seen doesn't even come close to matching the 10/10 reviews and 8 to 8.7 average rating that I have seen on MAL, ANN or whatever.

I won't really link but from what I know, he did SnK, A/Z, Guilty Crown, Kill la Kill, Nanatsu no Taizai, Ao no Exorcist, Owari no Seraph and he's doing Kabaneri now and i really like his compositions so that's just my personal preference towards OSTs involving him as a composer.
I'm well aware of sawano's track record, I want link to anything from kabaneri so far.

I think Kuromukuro is actually my favorite show this season. Didn't see that one coming.
Gonna drop Haifuri. The plot was already fairly dumb, but it took an even dumber turn in ep 4.
I haven't been too excited about Jojo, but then again, I didn't really like the introductory arc much when I first read it. I'm mostly waiting for my favorite characters and stories to show up. + Show Spoiler [Manga stuff] +I guess 1st cour is going to end with Akira? Seems like a sensible place to stop.

The last few episodes of One Piece finally are better again, especially the most recent one. Tho the preview of the next one doesn't look too promising. + Show Spoiler +Kaido is such a beast :O Finally we got to see him. Also I can't wait for Dressrosa arc too be completely over, it was fairly bad.

I can't tell which show I like better for my favorite of the season between kiznaiver, rezero, and kuromukuro. Enjoyed all the episodes so far. Don't think I'll be dropping any more shows from what I have now.

Recently finished up God Eater so now I need something new to watch, stumbled upon some cool Kill la Kill artwork. Is it worth starting that show? Seems kinda cool from reading the synopsis...
