Kill la kill is okay, it's nothing amazing but it has its moments and manages to be overall entertaining. It does have its own issues with regards to story, animation and very poorly used 3DCG at times though.
If you've watched TTGL and liked that then you will probably not hate or dislike kill la kill though. Same director and mostly the same people worked on both of them, so a lot of the 'flavour' is the same.

ah so much lovepon this episode, divine justice indeed

Don't think I'll be dropping any more shows from what I have now. Another one who mentions Kuromukuro... Is it really that good? I didn't pick it up and when I browsed MAL it had a below average score (for MAL at least).
For me so far ReZero >>> rest, I just cannot wait to see what happens next.

I thought it was pretty good. It's something you would watch for the crazyness, rather than anything else. The story is ridiculous, the characters are ridiculous, the fights are ridiculous. The animation might be poor at times (cgi) although it fits in well with the rest of Imaishi's animation/directing style.

Not sure what TTGL stands for so probably not heh. Seems like Kill la Kill might be OK I'll give it a shot thanks!

Sounds good! I get bored pretty easily with anime so if it has lots of action I'll be able to finish it!

Maybe you guys with your vast knowledge know of some gems you could recommend, that I didn't see yet. Since it came up for discussion, I am looking for animes that are similar to Kino no Tabi, rather slow paced but with an interesting story or setting, that compels you to watch it but you don't have the urge to binge it. Some animes I would put in that category that I liked very much are Monster, Infinite Ryvius or Kemono no Souja Erin. Something for the evening after work, but you don't stay up until 4am because you can't stop watching (like Psycho-Pass).
|
Legend of the galactic heroes might fit? I mean i binged it but i also binged Monster. Maybe Mushishi? Katanagatari? Shinsekai Yori?
|
Mushishi, Katanagatari, Legend of Galatic heroes, Sora no Woto, Kyousougiga(Not quite as chilled but equally good), Seirei no Moribito, Uchouten Kazoku, Spice and Wolf, Ghost in the Shell(Pace isn't really slow but it's not much of a binge watch), Hyouka , Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, Cross Game, Silver Spoon(Watch this now).
Some of those are slower than others but generally all quality that I find don't really drag you into a binge but are perfectly fine to binge if you want. I tend to be a retard that binges shit I like until 4 am regardless. Even did that with Legend of Galatic heroes until it became too much to watch like that.

I'm actually watching seirei no moribito atm and it's overall enjoyable, some of the episodes are honestly kind of boring but overall it's fairly good. And Balsa is great.

Legend of the galactic heroes sounds good, they remade the first couple of OVAs so I should watch the movie instead? I watched Shinsekai Yori and Katanagari, although Katanagari was not really up my alley. Mushishi I couldn't get into, I stopped after 2-3 episodes.

Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita is the only real comedy of the lot, the rest have some comedic elements but it's not the main focus. Jinrui is intelligent humor, comparing it to Haruhi is a bit insulting to me. It's leagues above :>
For LoGH you should watch the movie that does the first 2 eps then go watch the series.

Ok, thanks. I guess I am well supplied for the near future.

Silver Spoon is about high school life in an agricultural school. So growing crops/livestock etc. From author of Fullmetal Alchemist if you know that. Good show, would recommend.

Good recs so far, I would vouche for pretty much all of them. I would add Ergo Proxy, if you don't know it yet, although it may have the tendency to be a binge-watch. It's rather slow-paced with a bit of action here and there and thrives mostly on the atmosphere and mystery of the world. It's kind of like Kino no Tabi in this regard (from the few eps I have seen so far) but with a coherent plot.
//Kiznaiver ep4, damn edge xD Also whoever said that there was no Trigger-blowouts this season, except for a certain series, Kiznaiver definitely has a lot of them as wel...
//just tried to start and catch up on the OPM manga again. Turned out Kissmanga apparently shrinked a lot of chapters. The struggle to find the chapter where I left was real, lol.
|
ReZero : don't forget to stay for the after credit.
|
Caught up on OPM.
+ Show Spoiler +Have to say a lot of the chapters were fairly boring. Tons of irrelevant monsters and that long list of irrelevant opponents at the tourney. I mean, it's reeking of getting really good soon but right now, meh. Then chapter 59-005 was a filler...which was the only good one, ironically. Hilarious stuff.

If I had to guess... Rem and Ram are probably demons, and Ram has to be good at something too... maybe she cursed/poisoned him or whatever. Pure speculation, I didn't get spoiled yet.

Kiznaiver isn't really notable, but I'll keep watching to see if it picks up

Season one of Chihayafuru done. Taichi is less of a dick now. The last episode makes me think that could be changing to become a sadist.
In other news, Kana-chan wins the show.
