Monogatari is a meta troll of harems. Maybe. I think crab has it on lock down, though.
Big Order - I figured what was set up in Ep 2 was going to happen, but there's hope depending on how they keep going.
Lost Village / Mayoiga + Show Spoiler +Okay, I changed my mind. It's not a reality show plot twist ending. It's a less beautifully animated, more boring, and utterly lacking in feels Angel Beats! They're all dead, they just don't know it yet.

Its either a fake harem, or a fake fake harem.

Youre just setting yourself up for misery. I can't think of any harem type of anime in which you should expect romance progression. I was frankly shocked to see romance progression in non-harem anime like Ore Monogatari, which is more or less strictly about romance progression between two people. I think the closest you might get is Monogatari, which only pretends to be a harem sometimes.
Shirayuki-hime had some progression and was sort of a reverse harem. Clannad had immense progression and I think you can argue that the anime version of the first part was a harem.

That's how I felt about it as well.

I'd compare it with Lost instead. Might of course be wrong, but I'd be surprised.

They needed a power up, though I'm sure it won't be the last one if they wanna beat Hakumen no Mono.
+ Show Spoiler +Yeah, I expected them to get some sort of power up sooner or later. The armors are kind of cool. The scene in the end with the recap was brilliant, I loved that part.

The show could actually be decent if it wasn't carried by a bunch of retarded characters. Watching it isn't so bad, even though it's terrible. I'll keep this as my trash show. At least want to see what happens.
//Sakamoto was ok. Some pretty funny scenes.

Watched the first two eps of konosuba. It was decently funny. A bit jarring going from watching animation quality of Chihaya then watching Konosuba. It's real bad at times and that's on the BD lol. Didn't really hook me enough so poor quality may just be enough to not watch anymore.

It's not for everyone (like most comedy animes), but personally I found it very funny and I can't wait for the next season. Oh and some of the bad / weird drawings kinda felt like they made it even funnier for me and I thought it was mostly intentional... Though some of the LN character looks that Toad showed when it aired were a lot better so they probably could've made it even better. Maybe for the next season.

I mean i thought konosuba was fairly funny as well, but the animation/overall character art was so ugly i might've dropped it(or atleast waited for BDs) if i wasn't watching it with a friend.
|
are the BDs even better than the original? It didn't look like something that was mistakes but rather a deliberate artistic (?) decision. I remember either a tweet or an interview with the guy in charge of animation saying that they're doing those wonky things on purpose because it looks better that way according to him. Especially in those scenes with fast movement like Aqua+Megumin+Darkness in the succubi episode. And then there were pictures of other stuff he has drawn to show that he really, really likes saggy breasts in general (I think I saw a sailor moon pic from him?)
tl;dr: Haven't checked out BDs yet but I doubt they're going to change any of it.
|
I was watching off BD so don't know what TV looked like. It's not just the movements but the general characters as well. Just feels weird/flat and not that good at times, especially after watching something like Chihaya which is beautiful. I find it hard to believe that they deliberately made the art look like that. Reminds me a lot of Log Horizon S2 vs S1. If it's a deliberate thing then someone needs to tell him to stop.
Maybe it's a specific thing to do with how DEEN does their art. You don't get that beautiful world compared to someone else like Kyoani who does constantly. It's not even to do with newer vs older show as Hibike last season did that wonderfully.

Yeah people gave it a lot of shit for looking... not even necessarily bad (although those moments also existed) but mostly being really boring/uninspired when it comes character designs. No idea how to describe it, the character design was really just bland somehow.
No idea who did the character design and that guy should really be blamed for turning this:
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/G3sWYMg.png) into what we got. So the design probably wasn't on purpose and was just plain bad.
The animation however was done like that on purpose. At least according to them
That reminds me. The girl from the last episode, the very last scene. That was probably the only time I saw a character and thought that's well adapted into anime-design for a character. So fucking murdered Chris' design Oh Eris was good too.

What's way more surprising is that Deen actually did a show (Rakugo) last season that had good and consistent animation and character designs.
