The villains are decent, which is a positive surprise for a shounen. I was surprised when Scirocco or Hama Karn actually showed real affection for some other characters. The characters I despised the most were Fa and Katz. Annoying as hell.
The story was decent although a bit jumpy at times. It was more interesting though then the original series. I liked the final 10 episodes the most when all came together.
There are two things that I really disliked. First of all the continuous use of the same set ups to get everyone out in their mobile suits and create drama, even though they have been ordered not to go. Fa, Katz and the kids went out or created bullshit inside the ship so many times, I stopped counting. And each time everyone was like, "no stop them" into "ok let them go". And the people and charge never learned. They always let them do their bullshit. Also Kamille that always tried to safe the cyber-new-types. He never learned. The learning capabilities of the characters in this show were frustating to watch because they were pretty much non-existent except for Kamille in some cases.
The second thing I disliked were the mecha fights. I think it's settled: I'm never going to like mecha fights. To me they are just not exciting at all. Sadly this decreased my enjoyment by a lot because there were lots and lots of fights. Basically every episode. And each fight was so boring to me I almost felt inclined to skip them. Sometimes I moved it into the backround and read the forums when the fight took too long. I think I should mention that I'm not a big fan of shounen fights in general, especially not long ones. And adding mechas definitely didn't help.
Overall I think it was good. I definitely do not regret watching this, if only to see it with my own eyes. While there were things I didn't enjoy, there were good things that made up for it. For now, I'm not going to continue with ZZ. I still leave it on my ptw for later to experience the rest of the story. But for now I need a break from mecha (honestly, I watched far more mecha this year then I have ever watched before in my life combined). Sent, you wanted to show me 2 vids. One slap-collection and one about the Scirocco regarding Hentai. if you're going to watch ZZ Gundam keep in mind it's quite different from Z Gundam, it's more of a documentary than anything else because it isn't an anime and it's actually real.
What do you mean by that? o.O

On April 24 2016 11:41 Sentenal wrote:+ Show Spoiler +Its a shame you don't enjoy the fights. Honestly Zeta Gundam has some of my favorites. In general they were fast and chaotic, and I liked the mecha design in the show a lot. But to each his own, I guess. But yeah, I agree about Katz. Fuck that kid. At least he got a suitable end. Tried to fight Yazan, and then runs into an asteroid. What a little shit. IMO the best characters in the show were Yazan, Haman, Bright, and Scirocco. Yazan "I'm going to violate you!" Gable gets a ton of love from me for being an Oldtype who just shits on Newtypes via pure skill, while talking about violating them:
+ Show Spoiler +Funny, how it's all the villains that are the strongest characters. But yeah I agree, the villains were pretty decent. Thinking about it, I also agree with your assessment about Bright. He is a very strong character, that earned a lot of experience on White-Base and in between the original and Zeta.
About the fights: I don't think they were bad. I can totally see how someone could really enjoy those fights if they liked Mecha. Although I must add that in some cases the fights seemed to repeat themselves. Especially the first few seconds, shooting then light saber and the animation looked almost copied. I think that's the only thing I would "objectively" call bad or unimaginative. In the end, it's like you said: To each their own. It just wasn't for me, which doesn't mean that I can't imagine it to be very enjoyable for other people.

+ Show Spoiler +Meh, I don't think everyone thinks that. Some of them sure but some of them don't. Then again, I don't really care what anyone is thinking in that show because they are all mentally retarded and insane.
Fair point on Rakugo, this might be true.

Just in general. Could be about failure, loss of a close one, suicide, terminal illness... or another one about NEETs

Hourou Musuko: Transgender in society, very well done imho. If you watch it, make sure you watch the specials instead of the shrinked episode 10 (Link).
Kemonozume: Falling in love with a monster that is despised, feared and killed by society (because those Monster kill people).
Monster: Lots of topics. MC is chasing a serial killer and is chased for being a falsly accused murderer. Child abuse, man slaughter, manipulation etc. Great series if you are in for something long.
Tatami Galaxy: Becoming an adult, learning what life means. Great series again.
Shows about broken society/post apocalyptic (reduced to what I have watched):
Ghost in the Shell: Political fraud, terror, replacing bodies with artificial parts including your brain etc. Watch the first movie (1995, the old version is worth it for the animation alone) and Stand Alone Complex (both seasons).
Ergo Proxy: Postapocalyptic dystopia. Controlled society.
Shinsekai yori: Same as Ergo Proxy but the science fiction part is about biology instead of technical stuff.
I personally rated all those shows 9/10 except for Kemonozume which I rated 8/10 if that means anything to you. Some of them are borderline 10/10 shows for me.
Omg, reminds me that I still have to watch those two. Especially Texhnolyze has been on my ptw for too long...

You a braver man than I. I linked those two as jokes more than anything serious. Texhnolyze breaks people I don't even want to get into the first, I read a bit and ran away.
I do really need to finish monster. Got like 75% of the way then life went upside down.

I'll be honest: I avoided Texhnolyze for a long time because I wasn't stable enough. I think I'm now though. In general, I love shows that evoke heavy emotional response in me.
And yeah, you should finish Monster. The last 25 % is like the best what the show has to offer.

HOLY SHIT I AM A PIECE OF SHIT!@$@)*@(&#)@&Y#!*@#@#!@!@
I can't find Chihaya S2 anywhere on my PC. It's entirely possible I've never fucking watched it. WHAT THE FUCK. This can't be real life. I don't know if I should be sad or happy. The more I think about it the more the ending of S1 feels like what I thought was the end. WHAT THE FUCK. I just, I can't, What the fuck.
@Miragee - My problem with monster is that I have to restart it as I don't remember a thing. All I remember from that time was sitting down one afternoon with my cousin and a bottle of Jack Daniels crying out eyeballs out while watching Anohana. Then we started SSY. Ye were were idiots those 2 days but at least the Jack was smooth.

LOL! And you told me I didn't deserve chibi Chihaya because I haven't watched s2. xD Seems like we are both going to watch it for the first time now then.^^ I already downloaded the whole thing the other day.
Hmpf ok, that's a lot of episodes to watch. I think a lot of the episodic stuff is easy to forget. I don't remember a lot of it, either. And yeah, it's not a good idea to watch something so emotionally disrupting while being drunk. Alcohol is freaking poison and enhances emotions felt by a lot. That's why I'm only drinking alcohol when I'm in a positive mood.

Thank youf or the suggestions! I already watched Monster and enjoyed it.
The movie grave of the Fireflies has been on my watch list for some years now. I will definitely watch it ASAP. I have been intrigued by GiTS for a while. The watch order is the movie and then the new serie? A quick look in MAL resulted in multiple shows/movies with the same name!

It doesn't really matter because the movies and the series are not connected. I watched the movie first and I think it's a good start into the franchise. It gives you a good overview of what the world is like, although the movie is more philosophic than the series. This is the correct one: GitS 1995. It got a remake in CGI. Dunno why anyone would want to watch that over the juicy 2D hand-drawn stuff in the original but to each their own. It recently got a prequel (?) with the same name, don't know how good that one is but apparently it's based on Arise which doesn't make any sense to me. I haven't watched Arise yet, either. Mostly because I don't want to add a negative feeling towards this franchise and everyone keeps saying Arise is shit.
Anyways, the series to watch is Stand Alone Complex (both seasons): Link1 + Link2
I also enjoyed the dub on this one, so it's an option.

There needed to be a masked man in this last episode. + Show Spoiler +Someone to jump out of a car, or from behind a bush, and point at the seventh and yell out "M!!!" just to drive the nail in a bit more.

Kiznaiver had a decent episode. I don't like the 7th though :O So awkward...
Also, strange take on the 7 cardinal sins. I might have missed an explanation or something!

Nah, there wasn't really an explanation. That lecture scene maybe but it didn't actually explain.
