Maybe I missed something : what was the purpose of the spy in France? + Show Spoiler +I think it has to do with the end. The spy tries to get information how stable the situation is for the germans in france - aka how much in control they are and how their chances are to succeed in further invasions of other countries. Based on that, they (japan) are basically deciding to side with germany. Among other things probably, but that's one factor.
Thank you for that explanation, make sense!
+ Show Spoiler +Although, if I remember properly, the spy seemed surprised that Japan already allied itself with Germany

I definitely enjoy Re ero way more, but it's nice to have a non fantasy anime that is decent.

I think he was surprised because i doubt they'd tell the spies the full purpose of what they're doing incase they get caught, that's why he's having that inner dialogue figuring things out himself

Stray Dogs ep 3 was definitely the best so far. It finally got darker and more action. Though first half of the episode was still like episode 1 and 2. + Show Spoiler +I doubt that the sister died, she was too weird and annoying to die this early. I'm excited to see what happens next, the ending part was kinda cool.

+ Show Spoiler +Not an expert neither in WW2. I doubt the Allies would have allied with Japan or, if they did, i doubt they would have turned a blind eye to their imperialism. Japan's invasion of China mainland and of Europeans colonies in Asia prompted USA to embargo oil I believe. Without oil, the Japanese machine was doomed to fail.
To ally themselves with Western forces, or to remain neutral with the West, Japan would have needed to tone down their plan of a sphere of influence on Asia, which I'm not sure if they were willing accept, as the whole point of their aggression was expansion IIRC.
Germany was probably the only country with who Japan could ally themselves. Although, I do wonder whether or not they should have just skipped joining the Axis (as that alliance provided nothing really)... granted, I think they were already at war against most Western countries already because of the Asian colonies...
Japan only win condition would probably have been to delay or avoid direct confrontation against the USA. Not sure if it was possible... European countries' troops were already stuck fighting the main war in the Europe theater and could only afford mobilizing so much troops on the other theaters.

+ Show Spoiler +Afaik Japan was against the US and the west from begin with, so Japan wouldn't have allied with them even if the US wanted to. I don't have a lot of knowledge about this but what I got is that it was more of a loose alliance that supported their interests (as in fighting against the same enemy) and also about ideology and morale for their own folks.
Also finally watched Kabaneri ep2. Liked it. Juicy animation, especially when the girl had a her first fight.

Man I forgot how awesome a character Taichi was and how much of his life is fucking struggle. If more shows did the reverse harem thing well then the anime community would hate harem's guts. Geez. Can't even be mad at Arata since he's such a nice guy and Taichi loves him too. ARRRRRRRG DAMMIT CHIHAYA WHY YOU DO THIS.
|
I hope you are not spoiling s2 Numy. I'm still routing for Chihaya x Taichi.
But yeah, I really like Taichi. Probably for personal reasons more than anything. I though the character writing in Chihayafuru was incredibly realistic and human. If I should name one anime character I personally could identify with the most, I would say Taichi without a doubt. While there are still many differences between his characters and mine (of course...) there is also an insane amount of parallels. So many situations where I thought, damn, I know exactly how you feel. =(

Imo Uchio to Tora S2 ep 4 was the best one of S2 yet. + Show Spoiler +Nice battles, maybe Ushio and Tora will be a little more powerful now with those two armors. They needed a power up, though I'm sure it won't be the last one if they wanna beat Hakumen no Mono.
|
I'm not spoiling, just talking about S1 here. It's the fact that no matter what Taichi does she always thinks about Arata first and he does so much too. He just works so hard at everything yet is so kind and nice. Dammit I almost want to date Taichi! His parents are super anal yet he's this down to earth guy. Sigh. Everyone thinks he just has it easy since he hides all his pain and hardships behind this massive fortress of competence. Sigh. CHIHAYA DAMMIT.
I'm literally on the verge of tears writing this. I need to go get checked out man

Nah, your reaction is perfectly understandable man.

You really shouldnt expect much romance progression in Chihayafuru. Youre just setting yourself up for misery.

Well isn't the point of that show to put you asleep?

I can't think of any harem type of anime in which you should expect romance progression. I was frankly shocked to see romance progression in non-harem anime like Ore Monogatari, which is more or less strictly about romance progression between two people.
I think the closest you might get is Monogatari, which only pretends to be a harem sometimes.

Episode 1 of Big Order gave me hope.
Episode 2 of Big Order killed hope.
I still love they way Daisy kept asking "what's your wish" in Episode 1. But episode 2 felt chaotic.

i always felt monogatari was a harem that was pretending to not be a harem sometimes.
