Also, I'm noticing a recurring theme. The lower staff officers are always right, and the admirals are always idiots who are wrong, and end up dying. I mean, why the hell would you charge into the Thor's Hammer?

IIRC, didn't the Admiral guy think that the Fortress was still theirs? And it certain does seem like the lower staff officers are always right. But that is a symptom of introducing characters. Few of the characters in this show who are competent start off in high ranks. Alot of the time they are introduced as a staff officer, and eventually just rise in ranks.

I also liked how Yang didn't want to use the Hammer because it felt wrong. I feel like that's a very important character development. I think that Reinhard would have no problem using it.

I don't know if he'd be willing to throw Kircheis under the bus though. I totally see a conflict between the two coming. And that will be awesome.

+ Show Spoiler + Interesting of Reinhard to make that exchange to get Oberstein on his staff. And the Kaiser knows that Reinhard is scheming against him. I wonder how this will turn out.

I forget what that guy's position is, but the Kaiser himself is blissfully ignorant.

it gets so intense towards the end ;_; so intense so beauty so tragic ;____; The Kaiser knew that Reinhard planned to usurp his throne btw ![]() And Reinhard is nothing like Lelouch. Lelouch was a ridiculously childish character who only wanted to get revenge for his mother and protect his sister. Reinhard isn't fueled by his desire for revenge, but rather uses it to jumpstart his ambition. His ideals are for the most part noble (with Oberstein acting as necessary evil) and I believe he is portrayed more as an enlightened monarch.

His ideals are for the most part noble (with Oberstein acting as necessary evil) and I believe he is portrayed more as an enlightened monarch. His ambition was started by a desire for revenge, when his sister was taken by the Kaiser. But he definitely isn't much of a douche bag as Lulouch. He definitely wants the current line of Emperors to be destroyed. But his ambition to take over and make it better, in his image, is another aspect of his character that Lulouch lacked (and thus helped make Lulouch into a bastard). Reinhart is alot more complex that Lulouch, but at least the origin of their ambitions is relatively similar (sister stuff/wanting to take over).

+ Show Spoiler + I think that I like the Empire a bit more than the Alliance right now. It seems like the Alliance government is so corrupt. Also, it seems like there will eventually be a romance with Yang and Jessica. Edit: We made like four pages of posts today talking about LoGH lol
