Tytania still is pretty mediocre and slow, but if one doesnt want to commit to LOGH its not a god awful alternative either. Its unfair to compare it to LOGH though. Silly to even try.

As for going into it: Don't get discouraged if it seems slow and not very entertaining for a very long time. I know people are different but for me the fun started once I learned to know enough of the characters and it only got better going onwards. For me, until about ep20, there were a few episodes in between that really entertained me and the other pretty much just went by. While I think that would be different on a rewatch, this is what I felt on my first time. After that point the characters carried the show all the way to the end in an ever increasing satisfying fashion. So, if it should be the same case for you, plow through, it's totally worth it in the end.

You should grab this and watch it instead of the first 2 eps. Think it'll hook you a lot faster that way. The better animation and slightly more structured opening eases you in nicely.
I think after 5-10 eps it picks up but most people say 20ish is the mark. Hell I thought the movie opening was good enough start to latch

That's why I said that people are different. I expect that there are people who fully enjoy the series from the get-go because the series wasn't bad at all at that point, it just didn't hit my nerve.

Nummy recommend is also solid. Overture to a New War is a movie version of episodes 1-2, so can be watched in their place. Either way works, though.

Shinobu isn't doing too badly right now, even while she's severed from Araragi. And the first would still, in some way, be linked to her as her minion. Maybe it's a result of the link to Araragi - Shinobu isn't quite a full vampire. Neither is the first. And Araragi isn't quite human. So they're all kindof half. Like Episode, who appears to have no issues with sunlight, but a strong interest in BL.

It was before your time on here so unless you went back and read old convos, it makes sense that you wouldn't know the history between us. As for your other point, if its a mediocre 2 cour, I can just drop it and feel like I didn't waste much time with it (or just force myself to finish it) but if its 100 episode and I find 20 episodes in that I don't enjoy it anymore, it's wasted time. I also prefer shorter anime (2 cours is the best amount imo).
