If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

I'm surprised he got a MG for a newbie. Souma, refer to

and
http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/358094-5k-sentenals-guide-to-gunpla

For help. I imagine since you are a complete gunplanoob and don't have a hobby knife, you could not worry much about the nubs or sand them or something.

Honestly most of the work is taking off the nubs and panel lining. If you aren't doing that, its tons faster.

I feel like that series is one of the best Anime shows. The writing for both seasons is top notch. The environment and visuals are great. The characters are likable and interesting. Music is nice. The main plot and episodic stories are all interesting. Not much to hate.

Couldn't agree more, so much time smoothing pieces out and getting nubs off pieces.

Dropped Garo at ep 9. Pretty bad. Seimei can't carry the show by herself. Some of the episodic stories had promise, but the pacing was complete ass in all of them. The fights were a total letdown. There's still hope for the movie at least.

Dropped Young Black Jack at ep 9. Wasted potential. Using the issues of the sixties as a backdrop was pretty neat, but they didn't explore them in any sort of depth at all. The medicine is really just magic, so it's not even interesting to watch. Finally, none of the characters are particularly good. Maybe the actual Black Jack manga is better...

Monogatari gonna Monogatari.

Gundam IBO is probably my favorite show this season. My primary complaint is that the fights have been pretty lackluster. G-Reco had great fights in comparison. All the girls in Tekkadan are pretty awful, so it's a good thing the Turbines are around to make up for it. I thought Mikazuki was going to be a boring MC, but he's been surprisingly decent. Truly a rarity for a Gundam protag. I do wonder what the scope of the show is going to be like. I feel like it's going to culminate in interplanetary war or something, but they've spent an entire cour traveling to Earth thus far.

Subete ga F is my second favorite show this season. I think this is the first time I've seen a mystery anime actually present the mystery in a reasonable manner.

Sakurako is mediocre. The mysteries exist more as vehicles to deliver the plot than as puzzles to be solved. It reminds me of UN-GO in that respect, though UN-GO was far more entertaining. The characters suck. The MC is dense as fuck, and Sakurako isn't particularly endearing either. There is a central plot of sorts, but I'm having a real hard time bringing myself to care about it. I still question why the death sidekick exists. She's appeared in every single episode so far (except one!), even if she only gets a minute of screentime at a time. The one positive thing I will say about this show is that at least they had the sense to do away with that ridiculous transformation scene.

Concrete Revolutio has some good ideas, but the story's a mess. I actually like the whole present/future thing, but the way it's presented is so incredibly haphazard. It also doesn't help that consecutive episodes don't necessarily occur in chronological order. It worked for Haruhi, but it doesn't work here. On the bright side, the designs are neat and the animation is pretty good.

Not gonna lie, I skip through a lot of each One Punch Man episode. Having read the manga, I don't have the patience for some of the longer gags and scenes. At this point, I'm really just in it for the fights.

I dunno Subete seems to be trying to hard with all its psuedo-philosophy. Sakurako-san did kinda just be a lot of side stories but now its all coming together and you can see the connections and little things from previous episodes that are now tying into this one big case. Maybe I like Sakurako-san more because I actually know people very similar to her? lol.

Subete's philosophy I just kinda ignore. I'm in it for the mystery. As for Sakurako, I'd like it more if the individual stories were better. Half the reason why I liked UN-GO is because it came up with some pretty clever stuff at times.

I never really questioned that Shiki was dead because I thought the body on the cart looked reasonably old. The whole Miki thing blindsided me. Probably should've been more suspicious of that scene, in retrospect. The circumstances around Michiru's death are pretty contrived, but whatever.

Zaregoto limbs~

Cute end scene there too.

Nishinosono was insufferable in this episode. Would it kill you to have some self control?

I was entertaining thoughts about Shiki or Michiru uploading themselves into red magic or the vr world, but I guess that never happened.

If Shiki had actually found a way to live in that virtual world via uploading her consciousness it might have made sense? Her trying for some next level shit But otherwise her reasons for doing things seem kinda random. Lets not even get into the director. I never found Nishinosono that annoying, her prof on the other hand makes me roll my eyes about 45% of the time he opens his mouth.

I do agree that some of the stories were kinda weak for the enjoyment factor in Sakurako-san. At least the served a purpose and now most of them (besides the relationship building ones) are being tied into + Show Spoiler +
this I guess serial killer case.
. I probably like the chars more so it was easier. If you didn't like the leads then yea I can see how the show probably lost luster when the stories themselves got weaker or less exciting.

I still think it should've been a 2-1 victory and not a 3-0 honestly. But i guess eizan wasn't completely serious because he assumed his bribes would be enough, and the dish souma made wasn't entirely his own but something made through co-operation.

I think it's probably because Eizan hasn't practiced in a long time. While he probably was really good, everyone else was advancing while he was arranging deals.

Thinking about the logic in cooking manga is just an exercise in futility.

Actually that applies to logic in alot of things but yes, my face when people try to rationalize cooking and for that matter many sports manga.
