I know, I know, there's a chart on top of the page, but even though the anime's are listed by genre they can still be very different from one another. There could also be gems that are just listed under a genre I'd never consider looking under ;-) + Show Spoiler [List of anime's I have watched] + Full Metal Alchemist (both) Ergo Proxy Attack on Titan (+ all of manga) Berserk (+ all of manga) Log Horizon Sword Art Online (all seasons) Shinsekai yori Death Note Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Aldnoah Zero Fate/stay night and Fate/stay zero As you might notice, it's mostly comprised of more fantasy and action heavy popular anime's. Anime's that really pull you in through their stories are my favourite (Shinsekai yori as the one I most recently watched), you know, the ones where you finish 25 episodes in three days ^^. Was hoping to get some recommendations of lesser known anime's that you think are real gems. Doesn't have to be one of the genres the anime's I watched are part of if you think it fits the list anyway! Big thanks! Hmm Black Lagoon Baccano! You should check the recommendation chart on the link posted on the modnote. I feel like you could find alot from there. Go the action and mainstream category i think or branch out.

Kill la Kill (Haven't finished, watching now, but it's action on the order of Guren Lagan, which makes sense with the same people involved) Baccano! is good. Durarara is another option. Evangelion Tokyo Ghoul Not really my normal genres to watch but the above I've liked (or like so far, in the case of Kill la Kill)

The thing is, they're not even portraying said countries in a particularly bad light, so it's pretty odd that the names got changed. I guess you could handwave it since it's a different timeline or something.

I distinctly remember being annoyed by this exact scene the first time I watched it too. It's like the author was trying to (poorly) inject some humour into a decidedly unfunny situation. The Afghanistan ("Helmajistan") arc is still my favorite part of s1, probably because it's the closest we get to BOMF-like material before BOMF. The only problem is that it's surrounded by gag episodes, which makes the shift in tone kinda jarring. Fortunately, this particular issue won't be present for BOMF. Fumoffu is still godlike. In retrospect, it's kinda funny that it has some of the best relationship building scenes despite being a gag series. I love TSR, and I hate it too. Kyoani totally nailed some parts of the show - the haircut scene, Chidori's paranoia, and the talk with Gauron come to mind. However, the plot has gaping holes that aren't really addressed. The central problem for Sousuke is that he can't figure out how to balance his life. Does he spend his days at school, living "normally" and being with Chidori, or does he prioritize his work with Mithril? His conflict is symbolized in his relationship with the Arbalest/Al, and his inability to use the Lambda Driver. In the end, Sousuke ends up choosing both, which makes no goddamn sense. Sure, it's supposed to mean that both of these things are very important to him, but the whole reason this was an issue to begin with is because he wasn't able to handle both simultaneously! Aside from that, it's a decent character arc for him. Similarly, Tessa wrestles with her duties as captain versus her feelings for Sousuke. This isn't resolved either since Sousuke cops out with a "you're my captain, but you're more than a captain to me" type answer. Chidori's development is centered around her vulnerability when Sousuke is absent. It's meant to illustrate how dependent she became on Sousuke (in more ways than one). She deals with it though because Chidori is a badass. TSR is also the start of villains who will never be as good as Gauron. Fortunately, it's also the start of Al as a serious character and deadpanner. I wonder if they'll change the art again for the new series. Man I read the LN's so long ago its a blur, is the new series going to go past TSR ? Actually it wouldnt be a bad idea to go back and start reading form COMO I believe the new series is supposed to go to the end. I'm pretty stoked. Right then time for a rewatch, although all I was able to find was an announcement, doesnt say much more about it.
