Honestly, it's so long ago I probably should watch all of the old one again. I don't remember much. Like, I probably watched all of Digimon Adventure that was shown on German TV (RTL 2 I guess, would be like year 2000 or something, so a long time ago) back then, though I can't even say that for sure. However, I do remember that I tried to watch all of it as I liked it a lot, so I probably did.
I think I'll just try to watch one of the new episodes and see if it works.

digimon adventure is so funny
i watched ep1 of the new one last night and it seems like its gonna be really good
i dont have much clue about the characters, 1 is mimi, 1 is cool guy, 1 is normal guy, 1 is geek guy, 1 is normal girl, and i think there is 1 more normal girl . there is a brother guy/friend too i think there
its pretty nice to not be hand held by having a recognisable cliche dumped on you. instead you get to make your mind up about what a character is "like"

Shin is finally free of his duties and is in somewhat of an emotional twist. So far I can understand and even relate to. But then he calls his love that he craved to see for so long and hangs up on her. Without seeing her which might have changed his feelings? After letting her wait and worry for so long? He just hangs up on her without trying to explain anything? What a fucking jerk.
After that, seeing all the stupid, fight-addicted idiots flying to their deaths gave me the rest. Yeah such glory, lets die together. Sooo good. Fucking morons.

If you watched all the German Digimon episodes you shouldn't have any problem watching Tri.

I watched the first episode of digimon and had a nostalgia trip " oh it's so good! i should rewatch the old series! "
then i finished episode 3 and 4 and i got reminded how the series was and just lost all interest lol + Show Spoiler +Monsters appearing! They're destroying things and killing people and only we have the power to stop them lets go Taichi!
-But when we fight we might destroy a bus station or people might get hurt in the collateral so im just gonna let the monsters kill everyone unopposed instead

I'm in the same boat lol. I have no clue just how deep I went into the original show and somewhat hesitant and lazy about starting it especially seeing as its a sequel (thought it was just a remake of the original? :S)

+ Show Spoiler +Who is s class rank 1 and 2? my brother and i have been speculating that it might be 1 or 2 of 2 of the girls in the OP, particularly that one green haired girl that had a small scene earlier on. Im just curious about who they are..not really looking for any big spoiler

Watched it now, and I can agree with what you say. Taichi so dumb. ^^ Was still fun to watch though, I guess. And to my surprise I remembered most of the Digimons as well.

Idk, I thought it was one of the weaker episodes yet. Still enjoyed it though. That said, I don't know the manga so I have no idea why everyone is so hyped about the Rider guy.

Yeah, Licenseless Rider has a huge fanbase. I don't know why though, I don't think he is particular awesome in any way and his scenes aren't any funny to me, either. But don't start a debate about here. We have had a rather heated "discussion" between two people here that completly escalated.
