Well, now... he has an opportunity to see the series through different eyes than the rest of us. Because Ouigi is a mystery to him, while we - well, Ougi is still a mystery but we've all got some clue as to what's going on there.
Also, yes, Hanakawa fancies Araragi. That's blazingly obvious at the end of Nekomonogatari Shiro at the beginning of S2.
And Xen, don't let the numbers like "4 or 5 seasons" make it seem like a mountain. Except for Bakemonogatari and Monogatari S2, the rest are all short - like 4 episode miniseries. Well, Nisemonogatari is like 11. But still.
Anyone want to take bets on how many episodes until Owari hits something that absolutely cannot be understood without the previous seasons?
Also, I think Araragi and Kanbaru have a relationship not unlike his relationship with his sisters - which may not actually make it any clearer.

They've already mentioned Shinobu, Meme, oddities, and the fact that he's a vampire in general without any discussion of who/what they are because the viewer has already seen it in the previous series.

i'd say not more than 2 episodes .. man Xenomega it's gonna kill your fun i heard this was supposed to be the conclusion of the series so you are gonna get spoiled with alot of stuff without the buildup
|
it's not the conclusion. The don't cover Owari vol3 or 4 (zoku) as far as I know, so only the first 50% of the final arc will be covered this season?
|
oh i thought this was the last monogatari so i figured they were gonna cover everything
|
But seriously Xeno, just check out Bakemonogatari. If you really don't like it you can be a man, say you don't like it and drop it but don't just ignore it. If you liked Owari there's a high chance you'll like the rest as well because you'll get the same kind of weird throughout most episodes.
I can't even begin to imagine how someone would like Owari if you havn't watched the rest just because it's so weird...
To make it even easier: Bakemonogatari (season 1) is basicly a collection of short stories (as is the entire thing, but in this case perhaps even a bit shorter) that introduce the characters one at a time. Each time with some kind of super natural topic at hand. So in that sense it's a really easy start because you can just watch episode 1+2, (Hitagi crab) and it's a "finished" arc. It's even shorter than the other ones because she gets a bit more screentime later on in the same season.
So really all you have to do is check out episode 1 + 2 and you'll see if you like it.

Seems like there should be at least a few shows for everyone. Dunno. I screened spring chart again to see what I may have missed. There is Oregairu s2 (haven't watched s1) but no guaranty that I would end up liking it but potentially yes. I have Punchline on my ptw because it my hit my kind of humour but I don't have big expectations. That's it. The new MAL seasonal page is great btw. For spring there is tons of red, aka dropped. : / Souma, Ufo, UBW, Arslan and a bunch of other stuff, though to be fair a lot of them are sequels.
Disliked Souma. Read up the whole Ufo here in the spoilers with all the pictures and stuff, not interested to watch it. UBW was very mediocre but I still watched it. Arslan started out somewhat promising, it wasn't bad but I was too bored by ep10 to continue it further, so I dropped it.

Thought it was interesting (although I do agree that there are flaws, like in any shows, really). The girl (forgot her) that is with Decim also had a beautiful and sad story, I thought. The pressure to perform, leading ultimately to her demise... and her inability to thank those she loved or the other way around (hit something in me, I guess) Brought a few tears to my eyes (and most of the times, I am not the most sentimental type).
I'll try those two anime, thank you. What kind of mystery?
Uhm there is not much revealed yet. Sakurako-san seems to be kind of a murder mystery with the main girl examining bones for clues or something. Doesn't have to be stuck on murder cases I guess. Perfect Insider seems to take on one long murder case.

nvm, I found it. Staff powers OP.

Ufo was shit and deserved the drop it got in the end. But spring also had OreGairu,DanMachi and MikaGura~
iirc you liked Mikagura at least?
|
he already did yesterday. basically all of us who have forensic knowledge are dying here, though Slaughter has it the worst.

Yes it was. S1 was a lot better. To be perfectly honest, production values were the only thing it had going for it, sound and visuals were amazing.

Disliked Danmachi and dropped it after ep3. Already mentioned Oregairu, maybe I will watch s1 someday. Yes I liked Mikagura to an extent. It had really good episodes and overall I thought it was decent. It was nothing I followed with a passion though.

It would actually be interesting to know the opinion of a Japanese Forensic Anthropologist on it. A lot of the things I was mostly complaining about were her behavior towards the remains because in the US it is almost inexcusable (the methods are par for the course when translated into a tv show). However this perspective is greatly influenced by the historical development of ethics with the field in the US mainly involving Native American remains and a lot of the problematic ways they were collected and taken by institutions (part of the greater disenfranchisement of Native Americans in the US one one of the reasons even to this day a lot of tribes aren't on good terms with archaeologists/osteologists). Japan however probably hasn't had a similar development. Also their view on death and human remains (and digging up and studying the ancient dead) would be interesting.
As for UBW, to paraphrase a certain Australian game critic, A show with Saber in it simply cannot be bad, its against the law or something~ Still Shirou a shit and standard issue VN experience for FSN is superior.

still hard swallow the fact that toad hates ufo to the bone but adores oregairu when they are very similar in many sense
i know everybody has contradictions even i do

Ore ga Ojou-sama EP 1 was the most obvious harem anime I have ever seen. Like, after a minute or so you know it's a huge harem anime. Starting next episode it seems to feature a lot of Ecchi too. Was somewhat funny to watch though.

I haven't read the novels, so I can only make wild guesses based on the series. From what I have seen, though, I suspect this: + Show Spoiler [spoiler about Ougi's character?] +I am pretty sure that Ougi is an apparition of Araragi. The way that the characters are drawn is influenced by the person who is looking at it (or, rather, whose narration we are following at that time). There is a reason why Ougi's eyes are completely black, which makes the character look inhumane. Ougi also had knowledge about where the charm, that transformed Nadeko into a god, was hidden - which only Araragi himself should know. Meme never mentioned a niece iirc, too. Oh, and Ougi has knowledge about what Araragi remembers about the past, which sparked the whole "how does Ougi know it?" thing. Seems like a pretty solid indicator that Ougi is part of Araragi himself. I guess we'll see how correct that is in the next weeks...

The pilot episode is pretty slow haha but i like it. Same here... I actually enjoyed the first episode, it was a fairly neat introduction to the two main characters and Nishinosono seems like an awesome female lead. Whether or not I'm going to continue with it depends on how the next few episodes progress, though.

Perfect Insider ep 1 was fine. I will say though, if I hadn't known the character designs were done by Inio, I never would've guessed it. If I look reeeally closely I can see remnants of his style, but a lot of it is different enough that I can barely tell.
On October 09 2015 03:57 Miragee wrote:So I decided to watch some early works from Miyazaki. Started with Horus: Prince of the Sun today and to be honest it was kind of painful to watch. + Show Spoiler +Overall this had a pretty disney'ish feel to it. With all the singing and dancing, story flow, characters etc. The story-telling felt really rugged, as if he had a list of plot points and threw them at the viewer one after another. The dialouge was mostly cringe-worthy. As for the production itself I thought the art was fine. Soundtrack was uninspired and generic but served it's purpose. Sound effects were pretty cringe-worthy, especially the sword contacts in the final fight sounded like cheap light-sabers. The animation was mostly really good but also irritating at times. 30 minutes in or so it went from smooth action animation with some pretty cool sakuga stuff to literally being a slide show when the wolves attacked the village. Sometime later the animation took a dump here and there and looked really sluggish for no reason. Pretty weird considering Miyazaki was the Key Animator. It felt like he hadn't enough time to do the whole thing well and ended up with a few sluggish scenes and 2 events that just showed still pictures. Next in line is Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. I think I will do that tomorrow or on weekend. I hope I don't need to watch the Lupin series before that. Although if I remember correctly, someone here mentioned that the Lupin franchise isn't a continuous story so I can jump in whereever I want? Lupin is episodic, yes. Personally, I thought Castle of Cagliostro was a decent movie, but kinda mediocre for a Lupin work. It lacks the charm and personality of the better entries.
