Does this season suck or have I missed something. I was thinking the same thing. Like last season was following like 8 shows but this season only following owari and opm.

I don't think quantity is as important. I would rather have a season with one really good show to watch and 25 terrible ones to drop than a season with 10 mediocre/medium-enjoyment shows and 15 terrible ones. Following a show doesn't mean a lot.
On October 08 2015 23:45 Numy wrote: @Miragee - Well look at the SAO example Goody brought up. The plot is garbage and the characters are terrible yet it's still loved because of how badly people like the premise. Then you take a look at something like SnK where the characters are garbage but the plot/setting can be interesting and it's loved again. Action as a genre typically has one dimensional characters but is quite popular. Even looking at the good fantasy stories out there you find a lot of them have weak characters. Lord of the Rings for example has pretty one dimensional pool of characters but the journey and world itself are interesting enough to carry through.
True and good examples.
I'm looking forward to the day goody watches SSY.

Lol goody we aren't talking specifically about you. There's a large percentage of vocal people on boards that literally dropped the show and hate on it because of one scene in one episode involving 2 guys kissing that you are told is going to happen in prior eps.
Also I think I read that generally public displays of affection are viewed as discomforting to people. Also there are degrees of anything. You don't have to be a raging asshole to be homophobic. You can just be slightly uncomfortable with it. That is if you are perfectly comfortable with straight people doing the same things. Otherwise you prob just uncomfortable with PDA.
edit: Can we maybe just stop talking about SSY? You gonna make me all depressed again. I know I brought it up but shit that was a mistake. It's value as a counter-example isn't enough to justify me reliving the trauma. I think I told you guys before but it was one of the anime that stopped me watching serious stuff. Largely because of my overactive imagination and how I was emotionally at the time in my life.

Hey i'm not the person who brought up SSY Sorry i overreacted generally when i see PDA it's either i feel inspired by it or makes me wanna puke.
alright question will Owarimonogatari release like everything in one time like previous seasons of monogatari or will it be a single episode everyweek ?
|
It's like a normal show this season. So every week.
|
I see i haven't watched an anime weekly for along while. Maybe i should just for Owari instead of waiting for it to be complete since if i keep reading this thread and while people do put spoilers there maybe some unintended ones.
|
Goody you should watch Princess Princess and then maybe you will change your view on 2 guys kissing forever.
also, such underwhelming season for me...i have no new show to watch wtf
|
I won't say this season sucks since I have tried out only 3 shows but the shit potential is very high.

I just started watching second season of Durarara. Forgot how much I enjoyed this series. Celty so gooooooooood. Only issue is that I hear Karen but no Tsukihi. Not sure how I feel about my little tomboy karen being this hyper aggressive biosexual that's into incest.

Are you for real? This after Nise?

She was just cute in Nise! This twin in Durarara is way beyond anything Karen did.

He is talking about the sisters from the Monogatari series.

Just think of the twin as "Karen after spending a lot of time with Suruga, her senpai".

ROFL! Suruga isn't that bad. She's only bad when Koyomi comes around. Totally not her fault
@Miragee - http://bakemonogatari.wikia.com/wiki/Karen_Araragi and http://myanimelist.net/character/30623/Mairu_Orihara have the same voice actress. Both are kind of tomboyish girls with a super close younger sister. One is slightly more into her sister than the other...
I actually really like this VA. She does such a great job as the fire sisters. Those BD previews were so adorable between the two. She's criminally underrated.
|
Um....... Kitamura Eri is definitely not underrated. She is one of the most popular Seiyuu for a long time.
In fact I can't think a single seiyuu in Monogatari that's not super duper popular.
|
You almost never hear anyone in the West talking about her compared to the other VAs. I have no idea who is or isn't popular in Japan so just talking about Western people.

Also, another tidbit is that Izaya and Araragi share the same voice actor.

That's... more because anime doesn't exist before 2008 (or is it 2012 now).
You never hear about Yukino or Kuwashima or Nakahara or Koshimizu either. Heck, outside of this thread even Saito or Noto barely come up.
