ye I am willing to buy DvDs or the related light novels for animes or mangas I have read. But here in germany it is really hard to get anything at reasonable prices, tho I have to admit that it's getting better now that the publishers listen to the fans.
I mean most of the time I watch streams so when I get the chance to see it on a ncie TV who wouldnt want to see it?
Light Novels are another thing, they are even more rare then DVDs but really a great read so far and I reaaaaaally want to know what happens after the animes ended

Yeah. I have a hard time finding stuff too. I mostly have to use Amazon or something, and even that sometimes doesn't provide.
Edit @ Sentenal: I think I can figure everything out. I'll torrent SRW when I have the time to.

Or the scans for the original version? I can't seem to find scans for light novels anyway, Japanese or English... Only manga. At least for Haruhi/Baccano/Index/DenYuuDen... I read the Chinese copies from sky-fire.com but for english and jap idk

Toradora! Anyone?
Anyone..?
|
sure so what's up with Toradora?
|
They were trying to screen Toradora at our Anime club at school. I think that's part of the reason why I didn't watch it.
Also....just finished reading the thread....and while I think it's fair to say that there is a lot of love for shows like Index, OreImo, and TWOGK.....I mean....I don't think it's based solely on the fact that people are cute. Though that is a dominating reason. >.>
While it's true....I'm open to any new Animes. Honestly, I came here asking for recommendations, and most, if not all of them, came from here. I haven't been disappointed by one yet (though I've set aside Ga Rei Zero for a moment for other concerns).
So if Shauni recommends anything, I'd probably watch it.

Sometimes there will be some Gundam talk, but that is about it for any Mecha stuff. I mean, its disappointing for me, but if other people don't want to talk about it, so be it. Like Ecael said, its not like I'm shitting on people who like Oreimo, so no need for everyone to get so defensive. But SRW really gets the gamers going. I love it because I played thru the game storyline

Zergneedsfood you should give Toradora a try, it's one of the better romance animes
and if oyu didnt do yet try Baccano or Hell Girl / Jigoku Shoujo if you dont mind a relativly slow plotdevelopment

Texhnolyze is a must watch for everyone, I don't care if it's old and that I've said it before.
The most recent stuff I've enjoyed is probably X'amd, Kaiba or perhaps Rideback... There hasn't been anything the past year worth mentioning. Maybe some OVAs but not tv series.

Looks definitely interesting though, really hope the female characters have some depth.

Thank you Shauni. In a few days you're gonna get a couple of "OMG SO GOOD" posts from me about these. xDDDD
I shall now happily start watching.

from all the others u guys recommended that i checked out on imdb im gonna start off with FMA Brotherhood. As i understand it theres a previous version from 2003 but the new one is just a remake which follows the manga more closely, which is a good thing im assuming. So i guess ill watch the 09 series.
I also checked out Hajime no Ippo and it got good ratings also so ill check that one out also. I dont mind that its about boxing as long as its good....It reminded me a little of Captain Tsubasa (supercampeones in spanish) which i used to watch when i was little and i LOVED. So ill give it a go.
Elfen lied got rlly good ratings alo so i might give that a go...hope its not too cheesy.
And meltzu yeah i just realized u made that post thanks for ur recommendations! actually im gonna check out toradora now even though its alot of drama just cuz of the amazing reviews. GTO and Full Metal Panic sound good as well. Im not like hardcore into anime so id get lost in those sites you gave me but i should have enough for now with the recommendations u guys gave me. Im gonna check em out in this order: FMA Brotherhood (2009 series) toradora Full Metal Panic Hajime no Ippo GTO Elfen Lied
thanks! ;] It's an initiation thing here, everyone has to watch school days
Don't watch stuff based on ratings especially based on imdb as ratings there are basically just what's more mainstream. Bleach got an 8.8 lol.
And everyone here has watched School Days, you don't want to feel left out now do you?
|
For those of you willing to base your opinions on ratings, thats fine, not that i think its a smart idea or advise it though. But if you are going to base your opinions on anime ratings, STOP USING IMDB. IMDB was not made for the purpose of animes. Go to something like AnimeNetwork or any website thats anime-oriented. Relying on IMBD ratings for animes is like relying on a woman to do a man's work (not trying to be sexist, relying on a woman for piano removal is good example)
I took a look at the imdb rating for school days: its 7.5/10 FFS. How can you call that bad?
|
Hahaha, I can guess why School Days got a very bad rating.
And yeah, it's a mandatory watch. Someone said before we should add this in the OP.
|
IMDB is bad for Anime simply because its not what it was designed for.
Also, I havn't ever watched School Days *duckncover
|
I can proudly say I've never watched School Days.
