I mean, I don't have anyone else to talk to about these shows. So I may as well talk about them with everyone here.

On November 16 2010 03:39 Blasterion wrote: just curious who here reads the light novel version of Ore Imo Me. On November 16 2010 03:42 Ferrose wrote: Yeah. We talk about OreImo when it comes out. We talk about Index when it comes out. We talk about TWGOK when it comes out. All the haters should talk about the shows that they like when the shows come out. Because that's all that we're doing, and apparently it's a problem. I mean, I don't have anyone else to talk to about these shows. So I may as well talk about them with everyone. It is a problem to them because it is impossible to get any discussion going for them because fotm will be what's talked about most barring a really slow week. Its like how I gave up trying to bring up Bungaku Shoujo in this thread. But really that's what happens when you have a general thread like this, any specifics will really just have to be left to the blogs. Or pray for a lucky streak here. I'd take the blog path personally. On November 16 2010 03:31 Thratur wrote: I have to agree with triangle and add that there really isn't that much OreImo talk 4-5 days before the new episode. We talk about different stuff. I'm usually almost only posting about Shiki, but really anything is possible. You just saw the explosion of OreImo talk these last 2 days... it's already calmed down imo. That's 2+ days every week with gifs and memes inserted, apply that to TWOGK and such and the week is almost taken up. In general the flow of this thread just isn't in favor of the non-fotm shows, like your posts about Shiki barely generated any responses even though a fair amount of posters have mentioned their like of the show.

Vol 1 is also translated into English officially, and I can try to search for and upload the fan translation of vol 1 if people are interested. Noto Mamiko ftw, is she doing anything this season? On November 16 2010 03:52 Sentenal wrote: Its also impossible to get SRW talk going, even though I think its one of the best shows this season. Sometimes there will be some Gundam talk, but that is about it for any Mecha stuff. I mean, its disappointing for me, but if other people don't want to talk about it, so be it. Like Ecael said, its not like I'm shitting on people who like Oreimo, so no need for everyone to get so defensive. It doesn't help that I am planning on marathoning it hahaha~ ![]()

![]() but ye I really like her too, great voice and always great characters. Though she always seems to get more of the silent type of character to fit her voice but I think it would be quite interesting to see her voice a more outgoing one what is SRW supposed to be? and if it's mecha I think the only mecha stuff I was willing to watch is the Evangelion movies, FMP and Code Geass. I dunno I somehow dont feel right when I see those giant robots runnign around ^^

Or the scans for the original version? I can't seem to find scans for light novels anyway, Japanese or English... Only manga. At least for Haruhi/Baccano/Index/DenYuuDen...

Drop some titles and I'll see if I can find ddl links of novel scans. As for buying, Southlight mentioned some stuff with Kinokuniya getting free shipping if you go through their request service. The problem is that they will quote you a much higher price than what the exchange rate dictates for. Well, we were talking about like an $8 book being $12, so it isn't quite so serious when the amount of things you are buying is small. When you start to have larger orders though (like 15+ books), it becomes worth it to search out proxy shipping services where you can have a much better rate for bulk shipments.

At least for Haruhi/Baccano/Index/DenYuuDen... well finding direct scans should be tough because of copyright, but baka-tsuki does it's best at trying to translate some VNs until they get licensed. And sometimes in the vast pits of the internet you can even find their version of the licensed stuff

I don't think there's anything else. Why do all the good stuff have to be Light novel and not easy-to-find manga! I would be very grateful if you can find one of those, all volumes or not. EDIT : Blobskillz : My mistake, I meant Light novel, not VN, that I can find easily ![]()

If you don't like Robots running around and kicking things, then you probably wouldn't like the show. But for fans of the genre, the show has been very good. The show has everything mecha fans look for in the genre. Its a mix of serious and not-very-serious stuff. Its also a blend of "Real Robot" shows like Gundam or Macross, with Super Robot shows like Mazinger or Gurren Lagann.
