The only time the two overlap is when Index rushes an arc involving Misaka while Railgun S goes about it infinitely better and more fleshed out. If you want to watch Index first just make sure you don't watch the Sisters arc in it before you want Railgun S one. edit: Timeline is Railgun -> Index 1-9 > Railgun S/Index 10/11 -> Index S1 rest -> Index S2 So don't watch Index 10/11 before watching Railgun S whatever you do.

I started watching Railgun before Index, almost dropped it 20 secs in (literally, I'm not kidding) because of Kuroko's voice but kept on going for another 60 secs and it was fine. You can certainly watch Railgun without knowing Index at all. Heck, you can probably continue with Railgun-S afterwards without ever having touched the Index part of the story?

I wanna watch how the show ended up with the scene where the orange hair MC skydives. That looked cool.

It's not that I didn't appreciate the story, I just thought it didn't engage the viewer to the point of keeping them massively interested every episode. It was good overall and there is a lot I like about it. But I can't reasonably recommend it as I can see it boring some people to tears and the animation quality in the last eps was suffering. I'm busy rewatching it so I'll have to check out those last eps again. As for the rest I feel it does the character building and world building really well. It's not a mindless action story but more a story about the characters within this world WHILE having awesome action sequences. Balsa "becoming" mother and the suffering of Tanda for being in love with her is really well done. Felt like real love between the two which is more to say than majority of romance anime. Chagum's growth from a prince that doesn't really know anything to a man fit to rule the country is really touching. Honestly it was just well written in my opinion. There's never a moment that takes me out of the show because of how dumb or forced it is. So many shows these days are pretty but well poorly written and rather dumb. They might still be fun to watch. Hell it's not like I don't enjoy dumb stuff constantly. It's just a bit sad that some people only experience the new flashy stuff. Also anything that doesn't involve a majority highschool cast has to get recommended. What the hell is up with that.

Interesting choice in Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou, I thought it was really good but there wasn't enough romance/MC was too much of a pussy to just tell the girl his feelings. BUT the comedy in that was great ! Testie with the awesomely long post i love it!!!!!! Clannad AS was so fucking amazing...the tears that i shed, wow. Also, it's interesting to me that you put Magi season 2 and not season 1, but i mostly agree. I think the first half of season 1 was the best, and then the first half of season 2, then the second half of season 2 was kind of losing it's appeal (ppl start getting way to op) and then the second half of season 1 (the story just gets mired in this dirty muck it's a little disheartening with that awesome beginning). I honestly thought it was gonna be more about going around to the different dungeons and adventures but it turned into something else entirely. Still was really good. I love all this Railgun talk man!!! I always bring him up but my brother and I always have these long discussions over animes and he loved index, but hated railgun. I can't figure out why, Railgun was much better. There's so many more feels in railgun than in Index. + Show Spoiler [obligatory Misaka pic] + ![]() Also Last Order+ Show Spoiler + ![]() And kuroko definitely gets annoying but her power is fucking awesome. i just wish she didn't have to talk so much while fighting...ugh. God damn i'm gonna have to go watch all this again for like the 3rd time....i think Railgun is one that should be on my top list also

Magi S2 had a lack of Morgiana though.

It's got a boring MC, boring MC power, boring side characters, boring fights , boring story, boring everything. Only cool moments are when Accelerator and Misaka show up because well they infinitely more interesting than the MC. He likes the MC and index(the character) a lot as well as the alcoholic loli teacher. I think he says the characters are overall better and the story is better. He's usually not a fan of "girly" chars./shows....but then he's the one who made me watch Yuki Yuna so i'm like wtf? Granted index is cute as hell at points but it doesn't make up for the rest of the show. On November 28 2014 01:21 Numy wrote: Magi S2 had a lack of Morgiana though. This this this!!!! I absolutely enjoyed the combination of the slight mixture of green humor, cockblocking supporting characters and the tryhard MC.( i don't think he was being a pussy since he was so obvious with making a move on her )

Yes any moment with Morgiana is amazing. Should just make her the focal point of the show instead of all the whiny characters.

I can't really bash the show for it, because all the characters are actually, well, rational. The conflict in the second half of the show just felt kinda lacking compared to the stellar first half. + Show Spoiler + The final battle in particular was mediocre in my opinion. Humanity fighting against a force of nature isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely was inferior to the decidedly human conflict that characterized the escape arcs. The show had some of the most beautiful fight choreography I've seen. It's really a shame that the other parts will never get adapted.

+ Show Spoiler + I think the second half suffers from the scope increasing. While the first is very personal it suddenly becomes a lot more grander than it has been which makes it a little harder to connect with. A bit sad when I found it it was only book one of a series. Is there any reason there won't be an adaption for the rest? I know it being 7 years later and still nothing kind of speaks to it being so but just wondering if there's an official word.

In addition to currently airing shows I'm currently digging into season 1 of Psychopass, heard a lot of good things about it. I have a really long list of shows to watch that I know I will enjoy, but I find "hard to watch." My personality in anime is such that really long, intense shows I have trouble watching, but light-hearted, 1-2cour shows I have no problem watching one after another. Shameful admission: This is the reason I've yet to watch FMA:Brotherhood. :x

Like Mayumi. :3 | ||

Not really complaining per se, just felt like that aspect coulda been paced better. But that's the point, it is meant to be rushed. That's even commented on in-world by other characters that he changed incredibly quickly, which we know is because of + Show Spoiler + his mother's death + migi's cells in his body + him resolving to fight.
