If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

she's treated as a person

might as well be considered a person for the VN's purposes

esdeath getting more imba by the ep, lol can she even been beaten? apart from her timefreeze her normal fighting skills just outrank everyone and now with the timefreeze how can that even work, im thinking maybe he takes mines gun and does some super channeling blast to kill her??? or maybe shes so in love with him that she kills herself? unlikey tho cause she was pretty prepared to kill him just then, last way i can think of is if she switchs sides but that wouldnt be kinda shitty seeing as once shes on the nightraid side well gg theres nothing stopping her and theres no villian aparat from the shitty minster who probably dies to a grunt of the army.
Is there a second season announced or something? esdeath seems impossible to beat

+ Show Spoiler +
ya, she's basically seems impossible to beat atm. That time freeze pretty much means she can survive any strong attack on her life (even if its on a counter).

No second season announced.

Is this some anime original stuff or do the directors know more about the manga then we do?

+ Show Spoiler +
no one knows if this is how the manga will go.

All the akame ga kill stuff is original at this point. Its being written by the original author takahiro so the butcher won't be too bad

And there will be no second season as far as I'm aware.

if the same thing happens in the manga I'll consider watching the anime.

From watching the episode without catching up, + Show Spoiler +
it's probably not. Manga Night Raid knows about Esdese's time stop and is probably sending in Mine alone to bait it out. They also didn't send a whole team (that we know of) so Pumpkin is actually useful without Mine being a dead woman walking.

In general, though, the Tatsumi execution just feels like "the end" in the manga too much for it to go the way of the anime. I could be wrong obviously.

Quick question since I just began F/HA

+ Show Spoiler +
Are they doing an "sequel" route for each of the 3 from F/SN? They asked me to choose a "ticket" (1 of 3) at the start and so far "Heaven's Feel" has come up like 3x already so I am wondering if I am in the "Heaven's Feel" sequel.

I would contend that even though you know the final outcome of Amane's route before the flashback begins doesn't necessarily mean it's bad. It was done in a way that even though i knew what was coming in the end, i was still constantly guessing at what was going on/going to happen next.

I mean, in all stories, you basically know certain things like the protagonist is gonna start out happy, go through troubles, go through worse troubles, make it seem like there's no way out, and ultimately find a way out and end happy again. Generally this is the most basic and used plot line. Even though 99% of the time you know that the protagonist is going to be fine in the end a good story can still suck you into believing that not to be the case.

Also, Amane's was the only one that i literally couldn't take a break from (well at least once the flashback began). The rest of them i was able to pause and walk away from for a while and then come back to, but Amane's kept me reading all the way through (i spent all night on it and was up about 5 hours past when i normally go to sleep).

I agree in principle, but the situation is one which is fairly constrained, so if you already know the end result in this case, it greatly reduces the possibilities of how it might unfold. + Show Spoiler +
I mean, the story is basically a bunch of girls get trapped in the wilderness and all die off, somehow. There are only so many ways to kill them off if you want to stay realistic, and once you've seen enough of these stories, there's nothing left to wonder about - especially because you know the end result. In some ways, what happened after Amane left was more interesting to me because it had to be something unrealistic for the sake of plot convenience.

It's very different than MC goes on a journey and we know he won't die but we don't know what types of hardships he will encounter. It'd be more akin to if you stuck the MC into a single room with a girl, you know they later get married and have a kid, and no one is allowed to leave or enter the room throughout the story. It may still not be 100% predictable, but it's very constrained storytelling due to how it gets set up and the given circumstances and end result.

In contrast, Meikyuu was essentially a flashback too with a known end result but is far less constrained because the timeframe spans across years and takes place in many different locations. So just because you know where Yuuji ends up doesn't mean you can easily predict all his suffering or the people he met - aside from previously mentioned ones like Kazuki dying or eventually meeting JB and Asako, which is what makes it far more interesting, even if I didn't think it was that great. Amane's flashback doesn't have that kind of freedom in storytelling.

I guess the only route I took a break on was Michiru's because I fell asleep in the middle, but I read the entire VN in a few days, as I tend to do that with everything. The only things that ever kept me up late were Refrain and Terra.

Amane route draaaagged. + Show Spoiler +
Sure, it's supposed to depict the girls as they descend into madness and whatnot, but that shit took forever. I felt like they could've cut out half the flashback and still had a coherent story.

I also didn't really understand what the whole point of the hunter subplot was (other than providing me with a highly amusing bad end, of course). It also struck me as odd how seemingly incompetent Yuuji was in the bad end when compared to the good end. Plot convenience, I guess.

Yuuji was terribly inconsistent with how effective he was as an fighter throughout all the routes where his prowess as an agent was used. Though its probably better in these set of stories that he wasn't always Jason Bourne level of badass but his abilities did leave something to be desired at times considering all the talk about him made him seem like he was a very similar character type.

It wasn't actually mentioned until games 2 and 3 but normally Yuuji actually isn't that amazing a soldier. He is an excellent sniper normally, that's about it.

Not that he isn't above average even then, but he isn't quite godmode. Asako can beat the shit out of him easy normally.

I'm watching it and enjoying it a lot. I initially started watching it because of Chiwa Saito but now I'm just liking it in general. It feels like a period piece crossed with some light fantasy. I'm not watching PP or UBW so there's only really Akatsuki,Amagi,Denkai and Nanatsu as worthwhile shows atm.

There are more worthwhile ones. For example Shingeki no Bahamut. I'm also a fan of World Trigger. Even Vanadis is fun to watch imo, though it's probably not for everyone. :D

I watch those but I don't think they really worthwhile. World Trigger suffers badly from the animation, all those still moments make it feel so dull. Vanadis is kind of trashy. Shingeki is alright as it as the goddess and animation is good but story feels a bit bloated. There's a lot there but none of it really gets dealt with, instead they just keep moving on to the next big hype moment. I did forget Cross Ange. I started watching it for trashy lesbians but now I think it may actually be legit. Hard to tell if lesbians have just worn me down or not.

lol well i'm watching all of those. Bahamut is probably the best out of them, but cross ange has slowly become one of my favorites for the season. Vanadis is probably the worst of all that i'm watching this season.

It's interesting what you say about cross ange b/c it turned out to be really good (the first couple episodes i was like wtf am i watching, i should drop this...and then after that it got really good). My brother's extremely picky about what he watches but i got him to watch a later episode of ange and he liked it so much he sat down and marathoned the rest of it up to this point and it's one of his favorites also....which made me really happy b/c he almost always shoots down anything i try to recommend for him (i.e. UBW....he saw parts of f/z and f/sn when i was watching them and decided that he really didn't like the story and i feel like he didn't even give them a chance...and now i keep telling him UBW is so amazing and he's like "nope not gonna even try it"
