The show has potential, but it seems like it's too mired in its own shit for it to go anywhere interesting right now. All the stuff with the director causing not finishing storyboards felt incredibly trite. Why don't you show us how studios actually deal with this shit instead of locking him in a cage? I already learned that scheduling is hell from that one ep of Paranoia Agent. Show me in more detail, or show me something new. At least the 3D vs hand drawn stuff is relevant, if poorly handled in the show. Ironically, the show did cause me to question how much of Shirobako is actually planned out. Surely they can spare some screentime for some of the other girls? The key animator has been in maybe one scene of note. The aspiring VA has participated in a single audition. And the others... I don't even know what their respective roles are.

Its not a straightup awful show - its a bad good show. It is an adaptation, but I haven't read the manga so i'm just judging the anime.
They don't have your generic harem/school life cast, but instead we are stuck with manic pixie girl who is in the process of saving our MC by traumatizing him on stage.
The art style is attractive, but 50 shots of kaori's rosy cheeks per episode is just bludgeoning the viewer. Notice her senpai!!!
Then there is all the foreshadowing... i'v already watched ef i dont need more tear jerking

^ I think Shigatsu having different tropes than common school harem shows doesnt make it even slightly bad at all, except the random oddly placed mood-spoiling comedy. It's a refreshing change from standard school harem shows. Probably just not your cup of tea.
Regarding all the foreshadowing, if anything then it should have a tragedy tag attached to it. Overall I still think it a well done show for all the emotions that it is trying to deliver, especially the latest ep.

Love triangles suck balls and Shigatsu would be better without the childhood friend bullshit but alas that would require good writing instead of just relying on love triangle to fill in the tension.

Writing in childhood friends that realize their feelings too late as a source of drama should be against the law by now.

It's just so fucking lazy too. Can't create tension in a relationship? Throw in a childhood friend! If that doesn't work make sure the MC is interested in a girl that is interested in someone else while having a childhood friend that's perfect for them! My turd can write better romance than that.

Amagi#6: what. There is no mystery anymore on the melodrama here since her feeling is overly obvious now wtf. The focus of the story and their target audience is now confusing to me. I laughed for one or two moments thats it from this episode. Wish something interesting come up soon.

Log Horizon episode 6 was rather meh imo. I see Amagi episode 6 received mixed comments here as well, but I thought it was pretty funny. Had many good laughs.

I'm gonna give it a benefit of a doubt .Maybe the author actually did want to write a love triangle and intended to have a "Childhood Friend" originally before he turned into a manga. Maybe he actually wanted not to write a normal romance but rather have a bitter type of love story where the theme is "even if you love that somebody that doesn't mean he/she will always reciprocate your love" or "it doesn't matter if you are inlove with somebody if he/she is inlove with someone else" or "you fucking lost cause she/he likes someone else deal with it ! ".
Also it fits the bill of "naive summer love/spring love/youthful love or w/e that's called is more powerful than a bond that lasted for a long time" or something like that. Idk it doesn't seem that bad just not what everyone expects.

How is bolded not a normal romance story? This is pretty much one of THE more common themes in romance focused stories.
It's one of the most standard ways to introduce tension and drama. Nothing original or unique about it.

Uhm yeah sure except the author probably wanted the "oser's" perpective of the "it doesn't matter if you are inlove with somebody if he/she is inlove with someone else".
Basically "you fucking lost cause she/he likes someone else deal with it ! " perspective. Idk i can totally see that. I could be totally wrong with this assumption too.
