I think the shows description sort of explains this.
With the space program attempting to travel to Mars, 21st century scientists were tasked with warming up the planet so that humans could survive on its surface. They came up with an efficient and cost-effective plan of sending cockroaches and mold to the surface so that the mold would absorb the sunlight and the insect corpses would serve as a food source for the mold.
So like 5-6 hundred years prior to the series start they started the process of terraforming mars into a more Earth like planet. BUT that few hundred years is not nearly enough time for the cockroaches to evolve so much (usually it takes millions of years) or for the mold to evolve into various forms of flora ( i think you meant to say flora instead of fauna considering the roaches are the only evidence so far of any fauna)...flora = plant life, fauna = animal life

I know man! Like last season i had about 20 animes i followed but like 7 or 8 were pretty bad and normally i wouldn't have watched them but for the free time on my hands. This season i have almost the same number of shows following but they all seem to be really good.

Not saying one is better than the other just pointing out that losing all memories over time could create something "wonder-full". At least for the viewer. xD

Amagi Brilliant Park (5/10): I will be short with this one. WORST MC EVER, blatant FMP pandering, girls are boring abnormal beings. Designs are so much self-plagiarism it hurts, obligatory past teh drama and slapstick violence included. It's all a fairy dust anyway, don't expect manager simulator from this and you will be ok.
Not that I don't think Amagi is trash but ??? about designs.

i think it was more about the transition from hikki lazy princess to an actual good person, at least thats what i liked about her part in season 1

kind of. Combine that with fitting reaction faces and fitting voice acting for her lazy moods and that's about it. It's pretty simple but it was done really nicely imo :3
