So I finally finished watching Maria-Sama Ga Miteru or Marimite for short. I noticed the show when Ragz mentioned it after I saw it on the suggestions chart and decided to give it a shot. At first it was difficult to get down the Rose family system but by episode 3-4 I was able to understand most of it to get what was going on. By then I was hooked. The MC is your regular ditsy girl who sometimes over thinks things. It looks like she has overcome it during the 4th season.
The main plot drivers would the interactions between the 8 girls of the 3 different rose families and their relationships that spanned before Yumi (MC) joins the the group. Although some of problems are over dramatized and like 90% of them could of been solved by them speaking out and discussing it. The main thing that gripped me was wondering what would one of the girls do with their situation at hand and what would happen after that. That is what made me want to watch the next episode after the previous one ended.
Each Rose family has a basis of 3 members. The third year being the oldest sister and so on. In the show you can tell the difference of the each family and how they handle problems and such. Yumi's rose family being Red, is more reserved and usually doesn't speak their mind which leads to some problems. The Yellow rose family which is more loud usually due to Yoshino's antics. Then there is the White rose family which has only has 2 members a first year and a third year; they explain why later, who are most understanding. I don't think they argue even once in the show. Even if there was a problem they understand if they wanted something they would just ask. Funny enough this family has the 2 best girls of the show. White rose family best family.
After the 1st season and a half the third year girls graduate which reduces the cast by 3 people although the other girls remain as side characters. Although we do lose Sei, I think the story does get better because we deeper into the remaining girls' backgrounds. There are new character introductions as the new school year starts and that helps quite a bit, including Sachiko's cousin Toko who plays a big part in Season 4.
Just by how the 4th season ended it seems there is quite a bit material left, like the first part of the story. Since season 3 seemed like kind of a filler season. Season 4 was made in 2009 so I don't really know of the chances of a fifth season. Overall it was a great show and I enjoyed it quite a bit. It is not super serious and the interactions between the characters are very fun to watch. The characters are made so splendidly that none seem that similar. I only wonder is what would happen when Saichiko and Rei graduate, I don't know if the source material has reached this point but these two are huge characters to lose.
Best girl rating: Sei/Shimako>Sachiko/Rei>the rest
Mao-neechan. Setting your friend up with someone so easily. What a player. Mao-neechan easily likable.
I don't think i would even feel bad when she starts stealing MC-kun from the shy library girl later. I would feel bad for the Jazz-guy though if MC-kun is the one doing the cheating. Mao-neechan and him seems to be better fit for each other.
and omg please remove this two girls who holds frogs from the show they are so annoying.
Yup this may not be the most accurate for what i am looking for but more importantly the matchmaker is obviously the love interest and is pretty cool !! so all is well !!
She is so likable that she is probably the easiest female love interest to root for. Well maybe not as easy as rooting for Senjougahara. Almost nothing beats her in that department.
I only liked Mao-neechan at the start and then felt she became a bit annoying towards the end lol. I can't say much but you'll see what I mean when it comes time for that. Shy library girl? you mean the rich one?
Good episode, was going to drop it unless something significant like that happened. The pacing and the tone is decent so far.
Nozaki-kun and Rail Wars both made me laugh... although for different reasons. The latter is really poorly named. Nozaki-kun is actually getting better, which is surprising considering how good the first few eps were.

Sakura Chiyo is probably the only loli that i like. She is so entertaining. Or this is probably just because her VA(Ozawa, Ari) is doing pretty good work as sakura.

I don't know if that's disappointment but my favorite moment from her probably still was the end of episode 1 when she got the 2nd autograph. That voice when she's doing the "yay.... another autograph... I'm soooo happy" was just golden

Yeah Ozawa is a newcomer to being a VA and I think shes doing splendidly. Is Sakura really considered a loli? Maybe it's because Nozaki is super frickin tall is why I think she's just normal height.
Edit: Now to watch some other backlogged show like NANANANA and Genshiken. Also I was watching SAO1 and so Asuna dies after fighting the creator but shes alive in the other game? Did the creepy guy save her or should I just ignore all this.

Yea Sakura is most definitely not a loli. I really like the whole cast though and the interactions. Especially the Drama club prez and the prince and Seo x Waka. Sakura's VA is new? She is doing a hell of a job.
