I remember when I heard the GITS dub on adult swim years ago I was like wtf motoko voice? where is the awesome japanese bitch I thought I knew? Yeah. It's painful sometimes. Usually after I watch a series I go and watch the first ep or two in dub, just to see how bad it is and get a good laugh.

Gundam SEED and Gundam 00 are probably the most accessible and "gateway" Gundam shows. I perfer SEED myself. Then alot of the older Gundam shows are good as well. The original is a classic, Zeta Gundam is one of the best mecha animes ever created, G Gundam is Gundam in Super Robot style (most comparable to Gurren Lagann), Turn A Gundam is great as well. Then alot of the Gundam OVAs are pretty good, like the 08th MS Team. Short version is there are lots of choices if you want to watch Gundam shows. All Gundam shows are pretty much "action" animes, so it just depends what type of action anime you are looking for, and what style of anime you want.

Have seen FMA, FMAB, Code Geass, Code Geass R2, Ghost in a shell, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne, Gurren Lagann, and a few more. Really like action animes Baccano! because it's awesome. Seriously, watch this one. Samurai Champloo because you watched Cowboy Bebop. The fanboy in me also recommends Gunbuster, precursor to TTGL You know, at the pace the HotD manga is going, it's going to be years before we see another anime. I mean, they spent an entire chapter just getting guns. Sheesh. End of the K-On manga was meh. Somehow, I expected something better, though I don't know what exactly. + Show Spoiler [KnK a la carte] +

I mentioned it in the dub blog thread a while ago that someone made but there're some really nice ones, like the Baccano! dub. And this is coming from a native Japanese-speaker who doesn't even watch subs.

Personal favourites would have to be Monster, GITS (Both Series/movie), Baccano, Bakemonogatari and FMA:B was pretty damn good.

And what I hated was how the best character (Nadeko) had like the worst arc. It seems like all they did was show title cards. Like they ran out of animation budget or something.
