I actually did Eva in ~ 15 hours lol but ya, the anime had some good mech fights and I grew to like the story though the whiny MC was a bit annoying. Terra E had a lot of good fights and an intriguing story with the whole 'we need computers to maintain control of human desires'. It also showed the development of the different characters over many years (grew up, married, kids etc...) which I haven't seen much of in the animes I've watched so far and different conflicts due to generational differences. I guess that stuff just appealed to me. Bake, well, so we have an arc focusing on a girl who lost weight because she was affected by some crab and needs to recover so she visits some guy who helps her then we move onto another arc with another character but retain all characters I presume. Based on this, I guess I just wasn't a fan of having specific arcs dedicated to specific characters since it feels like there's a disconnect. At the same time, I didn't like the heavy emphasis on constantly pausing to read and such. I've paused in previous anime before but Bake was on a different level lol. I realize that other anime that I've watched in the past like Clannad had arcs for different characters but I guess the nature of those anime still managed to hold my interest more than Bake does atm. Not sure if that explains it well enough but ya, I watch whatever sounds interesting and Bake's general story isn't the most appealing in comparison to the aforementioned ones. Edit: As for the pausing, I like to get the whole story and feel that for Bake, I should pause to read everything. I can always try without but it destroys the experience. Well Clannad is definitely a lot more straight forward on what's happening, I think? Well except for like the intro part but even that wasn't really too hard to figure out. Bake's like on a different level of subtle. Anyways, I feel bad that everybody's yelling at BigFan for not watching Bake b/c he was the first person to be nice to me here, and has already given me a number really good recommendations. Even though I know it's not my fault you guys are like this towards him watching Bake and I really have nothing to do with it, just bringing the show up and everybody goes "BIGFAN YOU WATCH IT YET?!?!!?!" it's kind of funny. EDIT: and i think if it hasn't already, it might reach the level of annoying to him...But he might just be too nice to say anything about it. I know that's how I would be if it was me On July 06 2014 15:19 goody153 wrote: What the .. ? i almost dropped clannad to be honest .. clannad is your common SOL if was not for season 2 .. sure .. after story really picked up the pieces but i still almost dropped the show .. bakemonogatari is more interesting IMO Clannad and the Afterstory was pretty brilliant in my mind. It was an extremely heart wrenching story. Is it wrong of me to think of the two as just one long story? B/c that's how i watched it just back to back in like a day or so. but anyways, Clannad's overarching storyline and themes are in a completely different genre then Bake is (to me at least..and so far). It's hard for me to compare the two.

Regarding bigfan it has something to do about him liking every show he has seen especially the one where it's generally disliked like SAO so at one point everybody was recommending him terrible stuff just to see how long till he eventually cracks. Something like that happened. For me i am seriously curious what he thinks about bakemonogatari. I am always curious to what people think of that specific show anyways.

The reason why everyone else is eager to convince to watch it because he never stated he didn't like any show at all which is curious because you can't like everything you watch. You can already tell everyone likes their own shows and such. Edit: Stolen by goody.

Afterstory was the shit, and gave some of the few actual tearjerking moments of the show. I had a problem with the entire s1(of course the show has some high points) but it was generally either mediocre or sleep worthy for me. Good thing s2 made everything worthwhile. Although i didn't like the ending much + Show Spoiler + personally i would have liked s2 entirely if the show ended when Ushio died in the winter. It would have killed me and i would have been preaching this show but whatever they have to insert the "fantasy" part that they have been showing the entire show. It felt really unsatisfying they have to do that. Killed the built up despair that was developed by s2. It's the same case as when i watched Fate Stay Night(since i have no idea why i followed a certain recommendation to watch FSN first before watching fate zero) but i watched the whole FSN disliked the show but when i watched FZ it was total worth it. It was not a necessary sacrifice but it was the same case for me :D

I know you're all good guys, and I can tell when you're joking around (at least more easily now then when I first started coming here), but BigFan I donno how exactly to explain it. He always seems genuinely interested in how I think about the shows I'm watching (especially one's he rec's) and it just makes me like him a little more? i guess? He's been very welcoming to me even though I'm pretty newbish and still have trouble determining what I like and don't like. that's what i thought. I can see how s1 isn't as good as s2, but i think s2 wouldn't be as heartwrenching as it was without s1 + Show Spoiler + plus I enjoyed all the girls vying for whats his names affection especially the part about both the twins liking him and having to sacrifice their feelings towards him for each other, and how nagisa ended up with him.

Fuko who, while pointless and could easily have been left out, i found to be really funny and refreshing. But to answer the original question Kyou is who i would have gone after/liked the best. Then Tomoyo after that

it was happy and with this medium of entertainment I generally prefer happy. When it comes to Bigfan and Bake it's just something we tease him with from time to time, but when it was first brought up there was some actual interest in seeing how he would feel about it because at that point he had yet to say he did not like a show he talked about. Now he has come out and said he didn't like a show (FMP) and he actually got a lot of flak for that lol.

+ Show Spoiler + Not that excited to see another MMO, was hoping to see a reborn SAO world :D Especially not a gun-MMO :/... Well at least the main characters seem to remain the same. Still will most definitely not become as good as S1 was (tho it got worse after they left SAO world). Will keep watching it unless the new MMO is super crap.

+ Show Spoiler + I liked how the MC guy just casually says "missiles are coming" like nothing. And i think i am gonna like that princesss as the show goes on. Of course mass casualties in the first episode. What did i expect from urobutchers work anyways. Opening episode is ok aside from being overdramatic at times. Status: Glass Slip : episode 2 better make a fireworks i'm on the verge of dropping the show Rail works: Seems like generic action-comedy .. it has elements i don't like i'll wait for EP 2 to find out if i continue or not Aldonoah.Zero : Keep watching for now .. not totally impressive but enough to grasp my attention
