It was pretty good! I'm glad the Chinese VA they brought in actually knew how to speak Chinese. xD Might have given me an initial AotS impression if Mushishi didn't exist.

Upotte? Strike Witches? The possibilities are endless! Edit: Though I guess putting the first anime with the second and third is kind of doing a disservice to the first. >.>

Well, watch UC stuff... Since sent not pop yet, http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/332650-sentenals-guide-to-gundam Real robot seires besides Gundam (and Macross to a lesser extent) are kind of all over the place, and it's best to treat each series on its own. Full Metal Panic is a good place to start. Or Patlabor / VOTOMS if you want go with old school.

I mean, we're supposed to believe these siblings are anti-social NEETS, when they interact perfectly fine with complete strangers.

Still can socialize just dont like to do it or a tad inconsiderate.

I would highly suggest MSG Triology->Zeta->ZZ->CCA before Unicorn. It especially builds on the events of CCA, which was the 'conclusion' of the storyline of the anime I just mentioned. "Real Robot" starters could be Gundam SEED, 08th MS Team, Full Metal Panic, or if you are fine with old stuff, Votoms, Patlabor, or Macross DYRL. You already read MLA, right?

Ah yes I did on your recommendation I believe. MLA was amazing. Its stuff like that I'm really looking for too. More realistic war portrayals etc.

Also even though not strictly real robot, Kidou Senkan Nadesico is awesome. They are in SRW as real robot, so it count!

IMO MJP would be a better choice for a Nadesico-type mecha anime though.
