The novel's require several read throughs and adequete outside research to truly understand all of what is going on. The anime hasn't even touched on 70% of the content from the LN so if your comparing just the anime then its justified to laugh at the stories complexity. Also don't confuse the myriad of mythologies that are drawn on for complexity, its window dressing for a male power fantasy where the lead gains large amounts of power and builds of harem of women. Entertaining? yea sure and the LN are one of my favorite guilty pleasures. Complex? No not really, its pretty straight forward story wise. It just has an interesting setting because of the authors attempts to pull in heros/gods/spirits/characters from a lot of the major and well known mythologies. | ||
