Finished Bungaku Shoujo vol 8 a couple days ago so here are my thoughts on it that eca already knows about anyways.
+ Show Spoiler +HNNNNNNNNNG it was so good!
All the pages with Tohko in it were just so good. Especially the scene when they were just acting out scenes from Alt-Heidelberg was just so "warm and sugary". And dat scene where she gives him back his scarf!!! dat chuu!!! Now I can always rewatch it in the movie and just apply this context lol!
The epilogue was pretty much the exact same as the ending of the movie but with more context which helped clear some things up for me. The ending of the movie gave me the impression that it took him 6 years to release his second novel, which sounded really implausible that people would still care about him after so long. Good to know it was only 1 year, and that it was a 6 year time skip after that. Also sad now the movie didn't include the Santa bear with salmon at the end.
The mysteries in the series were always a double edged sword for me. On one hand it hooked me in to continue reading for my desire to know the full story behind the mysteries. On the other hand, the answers were usually pretty far-fetched and confusing due to how they always reference back to how one character acts like a specific person in a book. This one was no different, the entire story behind her parents was just a big wtf to me and borderline unbelievable.
But like eca said, that was really just a side thing, and the main part of the story was Konoha's decision to write again, and having to choose between Nanase and Tohko.
Yay Tohko wins. \o/ Although the separation was still pretty sad to read T.T
Maki's connections with just about everyone is pretty imba. Able to just get off the hook of attempted murder is just like... wat.
The remark in the epilogue about how his sister is basically living with him and taking care of him was lol. She's only in middle school!@# and he's like, out of college... dat age difference...
Now the side stories will never be released =( or anything else =(
Also, kaze!!~~ Where are you!?!? T.T

The answer to "Why did something happen in Valvrave happen the way it did?" has two possible answers. One is that they were spitting in the viewer's eye due to their apparent contempt of people watching it, and the other is general incompetence in writing.

It shows that they are serious!
Nobunaga comes second for me this season, after Buddy Complex. But things could change as the season goes on

Not like the kids did much more, but I guess they tried oh ok, ya. The kids just tried to keep the whole we're immortal thing on the down low and didn't do much other than gain support for themselves before the reveal. The immortals did play a role in trying to exterminate them. You can probably argue that it was to cover for themselves since some of the kids(main ones) knew about them if I remember correctly. One thing that was never elaborated is after the council was caught and finished off, what happened to the kids or rather, did the world just forget about them and such? Did they make it look like they died so that they can live peacefully? doubt we'll get answers for these but something to ponder

Did you not pay attention to the ending? At the end the kids created their own new space vampire empire and fought aliens. They made statues to their dead founders in a god damn museum. What more answers do you need?

I was asking about the transition to the ending, not the actual ending itself.

Oh, don't worry, I did read what you asked:
"One thing that was never elaborated is after the council was caught and finished off, what happened to the kids or rather, did the world just forget about them and such? Did they make it look like they died so that they can live peacefully?"
The kids made a new space vampire empire and fought aliens. They didn't make it look like they died to live in peace, seeing as they filled their Space Vampire ranks with other people and created a Galactic Empire of Space Vampires that is still at war with Aliens and other shit. The world didn't forget about them, seeing as they created a Galactic Empire of Space Vampires. Pretending they died to live in peace/the world forgetting about them doesn't mesh with "using their space vampire powers to conquer the galaxy". Did you not pay attention to the ending?

My questions had examples to lead the discussion, not definite facts. Point is still the same. Valrave skipped from the time the Council was killed to after the empire's creation and they had the statues. We saw Shoko wearing Haruto's red gear and such and was asking aliens to be friends with them. The show never elaborated on what happened during the transition which is what I was asking about. Either way, thank you for your reply but I'll await other replies on this topic.

Valvrave time skipped because its writers are incompetent. The only set in stone thing is "right after the final battle, Space Vampire Empire Year 1". 200 years later, Shoko hits on space jellyfish.

When did people get the idea that the animated equivalent of text scrolling by before credits telling you what happens to characters is meant to have transitions?

Haruto's dead, so Shoko finds out truth about everything. Becomes a Space Vampire herself and pilots the red Valvrave. They make their Galactic Space Vampire Empire thing with Module 77 as their capital, makes stone statues out of everyone who's died. Saki has babies with ERU ERUFUU, and they go on to tell the story of how they fought off the racist humans to become free. 200 years later, Shoko meets space jellies and invites them to be best friends.

Wow thats some hardcore speculation there, Nagi, got some facts to back that up?
