I really enjoyed Toradora and felt that it could've been even better if some minor changes were made, not that it matters. If I like an anime, I can really get into writing and trying to explain my pov and such. I think it's good since you're technically analyzing it before you type lol. I also haven't watched that much romcom. Read a couple of mangas but you don't get the same feeling as a romcom anime. I think the christmas episode really hit home for me and made it above average ^^

These are the 2 things that bothered me the most tbh, if they could have expanded on these things I would be a lot happier even if Taiga "wins" at the end.
My favorite parts where the cave part that was fun, also the tree thing with the star that was sad how it got broken lol <.< but it was nice that everyone was so joyous about christmas specially Taiga. Also when Minori ran together with Ryuji and they hold hands, best part of the whole show. But the part when they went to buy bathing suits was really funny and I always liked she felt so comfortable with Ryuji to let him in the dressing room and eventually tell him her issues she had with her lack of "confidence" , but that again only made me think of her as a little sister lol. I don't think any normal person would be so honest about showing their insecurities to someone they plan to date, not that early on lol.

One of them that comes to mind is Taiga going off the ski course and trying to get the bracelet after it flew from Minori's hair due to her fight with Ami. I thought that part was so sweet and heartwarming to see and then Ryuji finding her and bringing her back himself but not taking credit for it because he figured she'll be embarrassed if she knew. The reception would explain why there was no followup and such but again, I'm speculating about this but it sounds plausible to me(haven't checked ratings). That or maybe he got tired of writing the story and felt like he was out of ideas on what else to do since he'll be repeating previous stuff so he moved to Golden Time.
I mostly watch action and mech anime although I've been getting more into shoujo animes as long as its well done, there is good comedy like in Toradora and there is good drawing and music to show the love side of the different characters. I think that last part was one of the reasons I loved Toradora. I can visually see how much Taiga loved Ryuji and it's like a spectrum. Compare their last scene together in the last episode after he tells her in person, "I love you" to several episodes prior to that before they go on the field trip. The progression of feelings was great. I mean one of the scenes that comes to mind whenever I think about Toradora is the christmas episode. Her breaking down in and in front of her app and then when she gets cornered to confess and you see the struggle there. Also, Minori crying was powerful although I think the anime should've had more of it to make us feel more sorry for her because in comparison to Taiga's crying scene, I didn't feel as moved. I mean Taiga was literally balling her eyes out and screaming his name and trembling all over as she sat on the ground in the middle of the sidewalk in the cold compared to Minori who sat just crying at a home near Ami. I also can't deny that Taiga turning red especially after she developed feelings for Ryuji was pretty cute to watch I haven't forgotten about your previous rant but I was commenting on this earlier and decided to just finish it now. I will make a rant to your rant in due time lol. Expect it to be bigger and better than before!

I think it's a shame there isn't a really long shoujo type anime around (that I know of) the longest I know it's Clannad because it has 2 seasons, but maybe also Air and Kanon since they are similar and I think made by the same studio? art looks similar. I have yet to finish Kanon which I left on hold centuries ago and watch Clannad After Story, so I would recommend those since they are kind of similar to Tora but with a tad less comedy. Nodame is more comedy than romance but it does have quite a bit of it, it's a wonderful show with awesome music. I love it when a show has outstanding music I find myself listening long after I finished the show, like Cowboy bebop, Nodame and Kids on the slope (which I also recommend, slice of life/comedy/romance type of show) all had amazing music.
If you want to take a break from these shows look into Mardock Scramble, I think it's really good and it's short, 3 parts of 1 hour, the graphics are amazing to see in high res and the story is pretty good. reminded me a lot of ghost in the shell.

hehe you have no idea what you're getting yourself into I can rant for a really long time especially when it comes to animes that I absolutely loved like Toradora XD I'll respond to your post and rant a bit more once I get the chance after a bit. I'm actually not watching a ton of anime right now. Mostly asppregio, tokyo raven although I might drop this and one more I can't remember. I'll probably try to watch more animes like Toradora in the next couple of days after things have calmed down on my end and as long as the anime can be finished(no 100 episode animes otherwise I can't sleep/do work lol).

I can see a lot of your points, specially about the urgency of their "marriage" with Taiga's mom being around and all that stuff. Don't get me wrong I don't hate the show, some things just weren't fleshed out well enough for my liking and so the ending didn't make too much sense for me. I think a more even story and one where we see more of their relationship would be better, even if from the get go we know Minori and Ami had no chance. I JUST FELT TEASED! lol jk ISH. A longer show or maybe some ovas would have done a lot for this show, as it is I didn't like the way it ends, the whole thing up until like episode 21-22 was really nice but I wouldn't want to watch it again because my precious Ami got ignored painful to watch again D:. They should have pulled a Nodame Cantabile and split the show in 2 seasons, I felt Nodame was amazingly well paced and I really liked all the characters, nothing felt sudden or rushed or mishandled. I recommend Nodame, from the get go you know the leads will be together but I'm totally fine with that since I feel nodame did a better job with the pace of the story (the superb music didn't hurt it either), is not like I need for everyone to sleep with each other and there's a mess over who's with who in every show. Just dislike predictability coupled with a so so story.
I read someone said that Golden Time is a lot like Tora so maybe you can watch that instead of hoping for anyone to make more content out of Tora lol, it seems the same people are in charge so I would expect more mishandled story and bias. Also I have to say I really loved Ryuji's mom, what a nice lady , I really felt bad that Ryuji was so rude while trying to be "thoughtful" to her mother's needs. I can see what he was going for but her mom was a really hard working lady and a good mom so she should have let her keep doing what she does and not try to be an adult when he obviously has a lot to learn (clue: asking Taiga to marry him before even kissing her ). One thing that ALMOST made me SKIP on the whole show, I was seriously ready to stop watching the show and be like yeah I didn't watch any of that nope I don't need to watch it further lol. Was the pool episode, I was like oh man she's gonna get in the water, one of those fake boobs is gonna float on to the pool and everyone is going to laugh their balls off at poor Taiga D:. I really hate when awkward characters have shit like that happen to them, I've had movies I can't watch because I hate scenes like that, idk what it is but I can't watch that stuff. I decided to push ahead and skipped most of that scene
Last night before bed I watched 1 episode of Kimi Nozo and it was really good, I definitely see why somebody told me if I liked WA I would like KN, though they seem very different I can see where he was going with that. It took a lot of willpower not to watch another episode hahaha but I had such an early morning.
Oh I forgot to mention, you know one thing that really turned me off about their relationship that just didn't sell it for me? remember the episode about the pool how Taiga was embarrassed about it and so Ryuji made her fake boobs? That isn't something I would see a bf do lol, I mean that seemed more like a sibling/father thing to do, so I always had this image of them being sibling like and I thought it was creepy as fuck when they kissed lol. There were a lot of things like that from Ryuji that didn't seem romantic as opposed to just being nice and family like towards Taiga, so I was always hoping he didn't end up hooking up with his "sister" lol.

ya I see your point but still, it feels like you write a story or make an anime only to tell the readers or watchers to make their own conclusion about who goes with what. Then it becomes a question of, why did you write the story if you don't give me the ending? ya, I'm happy that they gave us some conclusion, that Ryuji chose Taiga but it can't be helped that I wanted more episodes to see their couple relationship blossom more. It also feels like you got cheated out of more episodes lol since it's quite easy to make a couple more episodes of their relationship together. They can easily have the female be more dominant and have her take action instead of like Ami who tried to make him take actions and thus things never worked out. If Ami kept pushing him like she did originally, it's possible that maybe at one point, something would've happened but you make a good point about him not wanting to disrespect Taiga although at this point, he didn't know her feelings and Taiga didn't know his either.
I wanted more fleshing out for that as well. Cave was good, I had the feeling that it was a set up lol. Ya, sad that the star broke but hey, it gave us a Ryuji and Minori scene which you must've liked lol. Ya, Minori and Ryuji running together is the best scene because you wanted him to get Minori in the end lol. I thought it was an ok scene The part about the dressing room and bathing suits was interesting from the perspective of her being comfortable to tell him her issues and I see your point but realize that at that point, Ryuji had no feelings as I recall and she was still focused on Kitamuru. At that point, when Kitamuru said that he wants her to win, she had one of her usual speechless, red face expressions so I think at that point, she wasn't concentrating on Ryuji as a potential dating partner. Infact, I think after Ryuji almost drowned, she started to consider her feelings towards him but several episodes down the line. She still liked kitamuru but by the time Christmas rolled around, she was trying to be more independent for Ryuji to get with Minori. I think, not sure but from what I recall, I think that once she started being on her own and such, she realized what he meant to her. Earlier on, they were friends, albeit really close friends because he was helping her with kitamuru and since she only had him as family and being at his place and such. Once they got closer, the feelings developed and she realized them right on Christmas time at which point she broke down, balled her eyes out and ended up calling his name in the dead of night outside her place. Something you forgot is that she is honest. When she ran away after being cornered, she went into work and saw Ryuji there. He said that he knew that even though she ran away, she would come to work since "she's honest" so ya, I think in her case, she showed her insecurities because how close she got to Ryuji by then and she was honest. Infact, I think she saw him as a family member because she was constantly at his place when they were doing the swim suit and then started missing him just like he was missing her when she decided to be independent.
I loved the Christmas episode. I think it was the best episode or tied for best with one of the later episodes. Music was great and I find myself humming it as I study lol. Better not be humming during my midterms XD We also finally got confirmation of Taiga's feeling through one of, if not the most powerful scene in the whole anime. Overall I thought Tora was poorly planned, I don't think some stories got the attention they needed which made them seem sudden or poorly developed and also to expand the story a bit more so we got more than the ending we got. Since we're not getting more episodes and that OVA was a waste of time (I think so) they could have planned what would go in and what wouldn't in what amount of time so we got a more expansive story that explained shit better. Not people just changing their mind at the last second or eloping to vegas with minori's savings just 'cause .
I see your point about the whole swim suit thing and the trust she had in Ryuji to tell him her confidence issues about her lack of boobs, BUT she did have that ridiculous reaction when Ryuji was drowning and all that SO I think there was something there even if she was still sort of into Kitamura. At that point I HONESTLY didn't see it as "love" for Ryuji I thought well she's sad because her chef/maid and bff almost drowned and then who would feed her? haha. Seriously, I think he was the nicest to her and in different ways to Minori so I can see why she would need him and be sort of territorial about him and that doesn't necessarily meant she was in love with him, that's what I saw in that scene not OMG I SECRETLY LOVE HIM SO GTFO!. Looking back I do feel kind of clueless about the whole show because I HONESTLY thought Minori was going to end up with Ryuji but after that crying scene it was painfully obvious what was going to happen, and she was already pulling away from Ryuji before that so... if she didn't do a good enough job with that before she would now <.< GG Minori.
I agree completely about the hand holding between those 2 TEAM MINORI FOREVER!. I liked the cave part but also the episode, that conversation they had about ghosts and stuff was very nice. I felt it was charged with clues about what she wanted from a bf and love etc, felt like it was a nice way of Minori to tell Ryuji how she felt without really telling him. I think we all know how clueless we can be when girls tell us shit she probably knew that haha, but was also kind of embarrassed to put it straight (I've met girls like that, it's aggravating). Was funny how freaked out Ryuji was when they reversed the prank on him as well, didn't know Minori was up for that kind of stuff which Taiga misled us to believe she wasn't 
. I think a lot of animes have that beach vacation episode lol, reminded me of a similar episode in K-ON!. I love that show so much, always cracks me up and I love Yui and Ui too much, they are too much haha.
I forgot to mention it before but one of my favorite characters was that bird, that was really funny ¿Inko?... (show's MVP), I thought that thing died more than once but he came back every episode haha. Very interesting looking as well. Probably Ryuji's side of the show had the funniest characters (not that there were many side characters anyway, excluding their class mates). The show about the wrestling was really fun and sad at the same time, I loved the whole performance was very fun to watch (I thought it was going to be embarrassing and I was ready to skip through it yet again lol). But so freaking heart breaking when Taiga's dad rage quit and didn't show up, what a dick D:, I didn't think he would to be honest I was fooled just like Ryuji and Minori before him. That also I felt brought Minori and Ryuji a bit together no? they sort of bonded a bit there and apologized to each other over their reactions earlier in the episode. Isn't that also when hmm Taiga and Kitamura held hands? that scene was very nice. Seeing Taiga dressed like a little angel was pretty cute as well haha, everyone was like omg too cute/pretty :O!.
Also liked those episodes when Kitamura rebelled after he discovered what was going to happen with that girl, was sort of interesting to know all that stuff and finally made sense why he rejected Taiga (WHICH BTW, when she confessed early in the show I totally thought she didn't do it right and that's why he rejected her hahaha, eventually I guess I assumed she did do it properly and he just rejected her 'cause). As I said before that whole fight and what came out of it </3 so sad, poor Kitamura but I suppose that had to happen for him to snap out of it and go back to his old self which was a pretty cool guy. He was a really cool secondary character, was funny to see how he was sort of ripped and was very popular among the girls haha, I didn't really expect that since I thought he was just a nerd but I guess that wasn't all he was. The ski resort episode was nice, specially when they were hiding in the closet and listening in on the conversation. I was like GOD MINORI NOT EVEN WHEN YOU'RE CONFRONTED ABOUT IT YOU SPIT IT OUT AND TELL PEOPLE YOU LOVE RYUJI.. DO IT ALREADY!. Perfect chance for Ryuji to hear it and just say it back to her but noooooo silly Minori, Ami was a bit aggravating so that didn't help lol. Besides that I didn't like the episode TOO much, I found the fact that Ryuji just KNEW where Taiga was a little silly and the "rescue people" that were supposedly looking for her didn't even bother to check there apparently... sigh. But I guess we needed that part to "force" Taiga to confess to Ryuji because she's SOO good at that right?.
So to summarize: Favourite episodes, the swim suit/swimming competition episode, the beach/cave retreat episode, the wrestling play thing/dick dad/bonding Ryuji and Minori, Rebel Kitamura episodes and also I didn't mention it but the Stalker episode and the episode when we meet Ami, just 'cause she's one of my favourites. I suppose that Christmas episode was really nice but it just put the final nail in the coffin of Minori and Ryuji's relationship so I'm not CRAZY about it except for the nice tree/star part and when Ami and Ryuji have those conversations then.
To be honest is late so this mini rant ( compared to yours, god) is all I can think of hahaha, but yeah those were the episodes that are mostly in my mind. Im not complaining about the walls of texts lol. Rather, Im impressed with how resilient you guys are on this subject.
Toradora was good imo, quite average but well executed. I was prolly desensitized to the typical tropes that this anime had to offer, since romcoms tend to be my most watched genre. Also, the music was a plus for me.

I really enjoyed Toradora and felt that it could've been even better if some minor changes were made, not that it matters. If I like an anime, I can really get into writing and trying to explain my pov and such. I think it's good since you're technically analyzing it before you type lol. I also haven't watched that much romcom. Read a couple of mangas but you don't get the same feeling as a romcom anime. I think the christmas episode really hit home for me and made it above average ^^:O I see that I must be the only one who loved Taiga's character the most(Ami and Minorin were good too though). Curses!
