I'm sure that there will be. There has already been a good amount of depth to the show, and it seems like a lot of it went over peoples' heads. + Show Spoiler [Kill la Kill 3] + ![]() Someone posted this on Reddit. Ryuko confirmed to die in a few episodes. Mako is the true MC. And this amuses me greatly.

And that speech about identity and appearance. Ryuko feels like a typical shounen villain, since she's always the aggressor, wears black/red, and always does those corny tactical retreats.

It's pretty bad. I still don't see what you found so good about it honestly. It got boring after they stopped featuring creative ways of killing one-time characters and resolved to just have the two main dudes citing authors like they're English literature drop outs.

Akira was so good at hacking I think the government would have sent to some super elite school or something, instead of leaving her to the mercy classroom bullies.

Though I don't know how the next few episodes are going to be a surprass this episode because we just had an epic duel vs the head of the school and now Ryuko has to fight all of Satsuki's underlings for a rematch when the fight was even. It has nothing to do with her kicking ass or me taking it seriously. Rather, parts of it are humorous and I agree. I'm just not a big fan of animations that try to get views by having one of the major people in it half naked. There is no way you can tell me that there was a good reason to have her half naked in all the fights. It was only done to try and get more people to watch the animation(and read the manga if it exists).

The power of Nana, making me like very minor characters. Too bad it feels like she has a ton of death flags. As for the school, you don't think it was their parents who did that?

There is no plot, no deep relationships, no complex feelings, it's pure animation awesomeness and it's all about the Rule of Cool, so of course all the visuals are made to attract the viewers. And the main character being the only one to fight naked is definitely humorous so there's that, it's not just a sex sells type of stuff (but even so, sex sells, yeah ;D).

There is no way you can tell me that there was a good reason to have her half naked in all the fights. It was only done to try and get more people to watch the animation(and read the manga if it exists). But, there is a good reason. + Show Spoiler + They referenced Hitler and Nazi Germany at the beginning of episodes one and three. And Satsuki has some lines that sound like they are taken directly from George Orwell's 1984, like her speech in the first episode (the contradiction is truth stuff), and in episode two when she goes off on a monologue and refers to the students/citizens as "pigs in human clothing." Why would they bring these up? Because the Honnouji Academy resembles a fascist dictatorship. It uses clothing (in the form of school uniforms) to subvert individuality and social status. The students are shown that if you want to be strong and unique like the very radiant Satsuki, you need the clothes (which are uniforms, something which inherently takes away individuality). To further drive the point home, we are shown that those without uniforms are both weak and belong to the lowest caste of society, living in slums beneath the school. We are taught that clothes bring the power in this world, yet the two most powerful people (so far), Ryuko and Satsuki, have the least clothing of anybody (contradiction is truth, anyone?). I think that this, combined with Satsuki's speech about identity and appearance, and Ryuko getting over her embarrassment about wearing Senketsu, is the show destroying its own tropes by trying to say that no, it's not the clothes that give people power, but rather individuality and free expression.
