But i've no idea where i'dd have to start with learning japanese ^_^. How similar is it to some western languages anyway? Edit: i''l just wiki it, sucks i don't know all these linguistic terms, makes reading about languages a chore. Eh, European languages are fairly similar so that's a fair point, but Japanese is not as foreign as you'd think. I personally felt like Japanese was closer to English than Chinese. Thats because Chinese sounds like jibberish.

Jibberish is quite the euphemism. *cough*
Japanese is quite tough to achieve fluency in. Getting stuff like intonation and particles down to near-perfect is incredibly difficult. I've been learning Japanese for a long time and I make a lot of small mistakes when it comes to intonation and particle-usage. It's stuff that you think you get right, and you don't notice it unless someone tells you. I've found that to be a trend amongst people who learn Japanese.
However, it doesn't take much to get to a level where you can comprehend Japanese. While speaking/writing it is tough, understanding it is like 10x easier.

Thinking about watching Toradora! Anyone got any feedback on it? Can you compare it to any other shows?
|
I liked Toradora. Then Kugumiya Rie happened and I hated it.

Toradora was great. I loved it. All the characters are likable, Minori es best. One of my favourites. Also, "greatest love story ever told".
After watching it, you should watch the OVA as well.

Elem's just a hater. Don't mind him.
It's just a typical tsundereloli Kugimiya role, tis all.

I liked Toradora. I don't get the hate of Taiga, but maybe it's because I've pretty much become immune to her at this point.

Whoa whoa whoa. Louise isn't even the problem in ZnT, Saito is - the two are clearly an item and he chases after whichever girl with huge boobs happens his way.
But everybody knows it should have ended with season 2's last episode, minus the final five minutes.

If I were Saito I'd do the same. Pretty much every girl > Louise in that show.

That's certainly an opinion, though not one I'd ever agree with.

I suppose if you like loli's and are extremely M I can see your point.
I, however, like me some boing boing.

She takes 'Kugumiya Rie Tsundere' to the next level, such that she isn't even tsundere anymore, and just a huge abusive bitch. Plus, shes flat as hell on top of being worst girl, so I don't blame him for chasing tits.
Although I do agree that it should have ended with season 2's last episode, minus the final five minutes. But I suppose ZnT isn't actually allowed to have good parts, so thats why the last 5 minutes exist.

Toradora was actually really good:

There's nothing wrong with some boing boing, but ZnT's are pretty bottomfeeder tier. But that's enough of that because ZnT certainly isn't worth this many posts.

French and English were always my two strong language (while Chinese is my birth language). Learning basics from Spanish + German was super easy. I guess learning other latin-based language is not a problem when you already have solid bases in two languages. I struggle alot with Chinese (canto, mando or even taishanese), as I'm not good enough to differenciate canto from taishanese, which in turn lead me to speak in a broken mix of both.
