I realize SAO is shit but I think she'll like it, so don't hate me on that one, please. Any suggestions? No slice of life or comedies? If she's a girl then Shugo Chura seems like an obvious one as well.

My personal theory is that due to low birth rate in Japan, most people don't have imoutos, everyone knows incest is taboo, so the idea of having an innocent younger sister to crave your dick has become very popular.

At the start she seemed like a cool char i feel like that was more of a joke since it seemed so out of place (along with the sailor moon transformation thing). hopefully they don't keep that outfit lol i guess we'll see...

i recently tried to get my sister to watch some anime as well, but i failed T_T. She does not like the voices apparently, says there's no 'emotion' in them or something, wtf... She also found mushishi nasty, that was even more wtf for me, i thought that was so good everyone must like it. She also does not like animated stuff... it was already a lost cause before i even tried it rly...TT

Shounens/magical girls and comedies/slice of life genres are the ones you should be recommending for newer viewers.

Once I thought anime was pretty shit and for kids cuz i initially had only seen some slice of life and shounen's. The i saw some miyazaki films wich i rly liked, so i formed the opionion it was good but still for kids. (My sis kinda liked spirited away, but never finished it anyway :/) Then saw some 18+ action and seinen like knk, cowboy bebpop, etc. and i've been watching anime since then. I wanted to recommend stein's gate to my sis first, but she told me she does not like thrillers or something. Wich i'm not sure i believe but wh, i ended up not going with that. Problem is i only rly watched alot of action + some other's, idk any good shounen's, commedies or magical girls. Well xept for madoka. edit: imo miyazaki is best way to get someone into anime, it's how i got into it. I'll try to get her to watch some more of those films i guess.

It wasn't shallow pandering or fanservice, but rather a marvelous break of the patterns that the show had presented to us thus far. The fight at the very beginning shows us that clothes represent power in this show. The student council are the most powerful people, and they are fully-clothed, right up to the neck. We are also shown that having barely any/no clothes is weakness, as the guy who stole that uniform at the beginning, and the boxer dude that Ryuko defeats lose their uniforms after losing. Plus, Mako (the ditzy friend girl) is turned upside-down and has most of her body exposed when they are about to execute her. And it all ties in with Satsuki's (seitokaichou) speech at the beginning: Fear is freedom! Subjugation is liberation! Contradiction is truth! These are the truths of this world! Ryuko, with her new uniform, is the most powerful person in that fight, yet she has the least clothing. She should be the weakest person, but she is actually strong and powerful. So basically, through Ryuko's uniform (and that scene with Mako right before the last fight), Trigger not only found a way to incorporate fanservice, but make it relevant to the plot and themes of the show in a tasteful manner. Masterclass.

In fact, the vast majority of anime would be considered Shounen.

You are being way too obsessed over whether or not an anime is "shounen" or whatever age demographic its aimed at imo. The target age demographic of an anime/manga (shounen, shojo, seinen, etc) has nothing to do with the content of the work at all.

edit: yeh i considered cowboy bebpop kinda shounen aswell, i just googled that it was listed as seinen lol, so i could just put my earlier animes that i did not like as much under shounen. And i liked some, i liked darker then black back then, i kinda like fma, but then i got bored. I just don't think my sis would enyoy them cuz they would be too violent. And i dont think she'd enyoy naruto, fairy tail or somthing either. edit: So i normally just mean fairy tail, fma, d gray man, souleater, etc. when i say shounen. That way it just a ez way for me to group together and talk about these kind of anime: lot's of episodes, no blood in action, friendship, lot's of shouting, main char getting beaten down then standing up again, fights dragged out over multiple episodes, gets boring eventually. Content of them all seems pretty similar to me rly. Also i think those are what most people mean when they talk about shounen, correct me if i'm wrong.
