I realize SAO is shit but I think she'll like it, so don't hate me on that one, please. Any suggestions? My sister was like 12 when she was in her Naruto stage.
She enjoyed FMA: B a lot. And she also enjoyed FT a lot. Same with Soul Eater.
Other shows she enjoyed (that were not action), were Working, TWGOK, Baka to Test, Ika Musume, Tonari, and Maou-sama.
Shows she did NOT enjoy were: Angel Beats, Ano Hana, Hayate, and Sankarea (lol).

snk is 18+, isn't it? Just to dip this before the next discussion starts. List needs more baka to test though.
weeeeell... and if she's a girl, perhaps free

Soul Eater is an excellent suggestion that I didn't think about, I'll give her another list whenever she finishes TTGL with everything else, thanks. You also helped me remember that FT is very popular with girls, though I think it's a little too sexual to be one of her first experiences I've never seen Baka to Test, I might even watch it tomorrow because I'm free ( ) but I can't really recommend it to her without having watched it first. It's a pretty surprising recommendation, because I had dismissed it as another "beta guy goes to school and gets a harem", does it have any substance?

Why the lack of romcoms? Tell your sister to watch Nodame Cantabile and Kimi ni Todoke. They are favorites of girls.

Well, FT may be a bit sexualized but its all for gag-humor anyways.

I don't know if Baka to Test has any deep substance but I found it a fun and funny show that is well worth the watch.

Natsume Yuujinchou is supposed to be shoujo isn't it? Anyway, she should watch it, though I don't know how early.

Yeah, real life siblings aren't really incestuous at all, and I find it very refreshing when anime actually portrays it like that, for instance in OreGairu.
I think Nagi no Asukara has a lot of potential from this season. It's visually stunning, and the first episode at least had very good pacing and set the series up for many underlying themes (racism/segregation, the main character's conflict between his emotions and logic). And of course all the delicious melodrama.

I can imagine people not really getting Hayate, since there's lots of anime references at times.

The new season seems to be so much better than the last, with Kill la Kill's first episode maybe the best first episode i have ever seen, coppelion and strike the blood both looking good and nagi no asukara maybe mediocre.

Probably cause she didn't understand any of the anime references since Emnjay didn't let her watch anime older than 5 years ago.

Never too early for Nodame~
Best shoujo... Fruits Basket, Kamisama Hajimemashita come to mind. Itazura na Kiss is quite good as well. Oh, can't forget Ouran! That might be the best actually.
Oh, and a lot of chicks like Vampire Knight.

TTGL is actually a really guy-focused anime imo.

Why aren't Oreimo and Monogatari on that imouto anime list?

Additionally, ZNF's girlfriend really liked it.
