Or wait for the new ufotable f/sn adaption if visual novels aren't your thing That's just Heaven's Feel I thought? Do we know for sure what it is, other than a new Fate project? I hope its the whole thing, ufotable Unlimited Blade Works sounds pretty good to me. As far as soothing anime goes, Turn A Gundam was pretty soothing. I don't think they confirmed anything about it being HF yet. Crazy Clover Club's doujin for c84 had some funny stuff about Sakura wishing for it to be HF so her popularity poll status wouldn't be Ciel level. While Rin speculates that mapo, rider and even saber alter are much more likely to get a popularity boost from HF. I don't think it's confirmed to be HF, people think it would be because of rumors and it's the only route without anime adaptation. Also HF works the best as F/Z continuation in my opinion + Show Spoiler +Explains Angra Mainyu, Sakura and Zouken are relevant and it has a lot of Kotomine HF isn't a F/Z continuation, F/Z was written with the events of HF in mind. On August 29 2013 06:12 Zergneedsfood wrote: Was Heaven's Feel like the best route or something? The least bad route, in the grand scheme of things. HF made me hate Sakura, so IDK how she would get a popularity boost from it getting animated lol That was the joke, that and the fact that it is still technically "Sakura route". Mapo probably gonna come out #1 beneficiary, followed by Rider.

Not so funny that they make you laugh, not so happy that they make you cry, but they just bring on your face a big banana grin without you noticing. They just soothe you and lighten your mood if you were down, in a relaxing warm kind of way, like telling you "Everything's okay".
For me, there are a few: - Bartender - Eve no Jikan - Usagi Drop - Mushishi, I think, but I haven't finished yet
And more recently: - Uchouten Kazoku Shit is so good :D
Tonari Kaibutsu.
I feel lots of things when I watch this. Its like an emotional roller coaster for me or something.
Mini rant: Every time someone asks me for a anime rec, I ALWAYS think of Tonari as the first thing. But more than always, they come back to me and tell me that it was just alright or mediocre. I feel like not everyone can fully appreciate how heavy some of the dialogue can be, even if its really subtle sometimes.

Only good thing about Tonari was Natsume.
|
Tonari needed to go on a bit longer for me to appreciate it as anything more than an average rom-com

I'll look into all of these. Thanks everyone Just watched Uchouten's 8th episode. + Show Spoiler +No smile there, a bit teary-eyed in fact, but the anime just became (confirmed?) a 9/10, maybe a 10/10 :D
|
just now? That's late
I'm halfway watching mushishi btw, and it's seriously becoming one of the best i've seen; no bad or boring episode yet :D

So I started watching Kingdom and why does it have animation comparable to 90s western cgi cartoons when it was made in 2012? The way characters move seems so stiff making it unsettling to watch. The story itself seems interesting enough, but the animation alone makes me consider reading the manga. Edit: episode 4 doesn't seem that bad though, but then it comes back again for the next episode with the cgi crap again -_- Budget issues I guess.

My iShuffle playlist was getting stale.
Gatchaman OST rejuvenated it.

So I just started watching Uchouten and there's one thing I'm not 100% clear about: + Show Spoiler + so as i understand it apart from Benten humans don't actually know tanuki exist in rl?
Started watching WataMote too and at the time I quite enjoyed it. (could be just because of the time of day though, like u know everything becomes funny of ur tired enough etc.) Probably the first comedy, school, slice of life, wh, thingy i rly watched (tried some earlier but got bored after 2 eps; i did not like the ouran hs club, metal panic fumoffu, gintama, etc.. no opinion about the sos brigade thingy (was ok but not funny or interesting)... ), so is there anything similar someone can recommend? I know there's recommendations in MAL, but from my experience those are just more popular shows that have just a few random things in common mostly, plpl just recommend the shows they like everywhere they can ^_^.
Also finshed Mushishi, i think its like my new fav anime i have watched ^_^. So I'll try the anime's listed earlier in this thread by Zenith i think.

Try Texhnolyze.
If you find the first 8 episodes just keep watching because it will be worth it.

Yeah, Kingdom's animation is pretty atrocious, but the anime is quite enjoyable regardless. S2's animation is a big upgrade so I recommend you keep on truckin'.
I honestly love anime about kingdoms and war. Stuff like Juuni Kokki, Kingdom and Saiunkoki Monogatari really make my day. I don't think I've seen anything of that genre that's up to par with those three though.

edit: unless you're directing that statement from something else that I think I see now O:
Texhnolyze is a fucking awesome show if you're in the mood for a really fucking awesome show. It's not a comedy or anything like that (polar opposite in fact), but I, who used to almost exclusively watch mindless ecchi harem romcom etc etc etc was instantly addicted to that show the first time I saw it.

Afaik Wamamote is kinda unique, but if you're looking for just a solid comedy I'd recommend Cromartie High School or Thermae Romae. I might get flak for this, but I also personally thought Yuyushiki was one hell of a funny show.

Yeah, I mentioned Texhnolyze cause he mentioned Mushishi.
|
While Texhnolyze is fundamentally different from Mushishi, the big thing is that both can be just as thoughtprovoking and beautiful. It's a hard gamble though since the settings are polar opposites.
Still recommend it though, since Mushishi is my favourite anime and Texhnolyze is my #2. Maybe it could work out in the same twisted way for you. It did for ZNF at least.

A while ago I said the Ao no Exorcist anime was garbage. That hasn't changed. But I did watch the movie at a friend's recommendation recently and it was surprisingly well done, though I'd only recommend it if you were a fan of the series (whether it be that awful excuse for an anime or the manga.)

Texhnolyzzzeeuuuuu!!!! *rawr*

Reading through Higurashi + Show Spoiler [Higurashi chapter 1] +Just my first impressions.
Ryukishi is a really good writer when it comes to laying out the thought process of an average person who is experiencing a life threatening situation for the first time. Or well I should say he understands the human psyche quite well.
The atmosphere kind of reminds me a bit of Chaos; Head, but done better. I guess that's because Chaos;Head is more SF than mystery.
If the cause of death as currently implied for Tomitake san is an unknown drug , I'll be very disappointed. What happened to Knox 4th?
Furude Rika, Furudo Erika sounds pretty close.

Yeah, that's why I suggested it, not because they are necessarily similar, but because they are two of my favourite anime.

Servant x Service is just, great. Its been a long, long while since an anime genuinely made me laugh out loud.

Furude Rika, Furudo Erika sounds pretty close. Rika, Bern, and Erika all share many similarities, although the reasons for which aren't really relevant to the story.
