There are a few other anime that I think might be more deserving, but if you're watching it in a group and marathoning it, some of the other ones might not be suitable. | ||

I disagree, although that has changed in recent years (without coincidentally due to the rise in acceptance of the 1cour anime). Proportionally there're a lot more garbage 2cour+ shows than 1cour, and a lot of 2cour+ shows that should have been 1cour. Stuff like Cowboy Bebop and DtB would have been better-suited to be 1cour, for instance, as you'd cut away a lot of the filler. The GitS TV shows likewise should have been straight-up cut into two separate cours, ala FMP and Fumoffu. I also think that a lot of material tends to be better-suited to 1cour, like Lucky Star (funny 4koma for 2 vols), Minamike (likewise), and so on. Of course, that won't stop a studio from milking the cash show, but that's more-or-less the pattern I see. That's why stuff like Danshi Koukousei can go 1cour and be awesome all the way through, while stuff like Nichijou has a tendency to be less-well-received because they had to incorporate a lot of less-funny jokes as filler. | ||
