Still love Azaka though, even though I think you were shallow as a character. Same treatment as Souren T_T

Southlight, we should start a team to combat Kona's loli lovers ![]() F/SN vs Muramasa is such a sad matchup heh. Honestly Hollow would be a much better match. Azaka, unfortunately, was just the prototype Akiha far as novels go for us. I did quite enjoy seeing chapter 6 in movie done in Azaka pov though. Always felt like she could've used more attention, especially considering how the taboo there runs even deeper than Akiha's. Araya Souren...dunno, I rather felt like his place in the story shouldn't see too much attention. It is too easy to turn him from the conceptual object that he should be to some Byronic anti-hero. The way that the movie had flashbacks was really enough far as I am concerned. And EMS comes through and beats DHL by having Saturday delivery. Now if my eyes can actually open properly so I can go through the rest of ningen series...

I don't know. I'd very much like to see more of the witches/mages' side of the world. That's part of the reason why I'm looking forward to Witches. For instance, the dynamics of Touko/Aoko (thus far the only witch vs magus blood line), Touko/Cornelius/Souren (Cornelius simply got beaten on in the movie - in the novels it was made clear he was actually a very strong attack magus, but he ended up obsessing over puppeteering), Souren/Aragiri Satsuki/Church (Church wanting to store Satsuki for research, and Souren was gunning after Satsuki, evidently wanting him to re-wire Shiki's memory), were fascinating in Rakkyo, despite how little focus they actually got. Those three in particular from Rakkyo are why I was interested in Souren. He's obviously a nearly-unstoppable heat-seeking missile toward his goals, but he remarked having "run into a wall" (ala Touko and herself), and it'd be interesting seeing what turned him from "the three friends" into "hi, die." Edit: Incidentally, I found KurogirI Satsuki incredibly fascinating; at least his story, and his evident place in the power struggle that was the Magicians' Church. It's a shame the movie had absolutely no way to reproduce his impact on the philosophy in the story - chapter 7 was more a tying of loose ends and an odd morality pondering over "murder," but chapter 6 - his and Azaka's chapter - seemed most like Rakkyo's conclusion.

![]() Edit: Usui needs to stop speaking in English. It's terrible for a guy who supposedly has a classical British education. I actually didn't realize that Azaka was in almost every KnK movie until I saw it on myanimelist. Talk about having little screentime.

I don't really want to watch anything too fanservicy so kiss x sis is out of the question and I already started watching k-on!! From what I've seen: Kaichou wa Maid Sama is a generic shoujo, but it's okay. Everyone and their mother is watching Angel Beats. B Gata H Kei is fucking terrible. Arakawa Under the Bridge is shaping up to be a pretty decent comedy. Senkou no Night Raid is a really, really generic action show. I didn't like it, but I don't know what your preferences are. Yeah, that was Azaka's kigen, it was rather amusing walking into chapter 6 and just get that thrown at us. That automatically made me want to see more things with her, to be honest. One of the official mangas had a cute little afterstory involving Azaka and Fujino after chapter 3, drawing upon her kigen (in a way) to conclude it. Yeah, witches will at least shed light on Aoko and Touko, something I've been wanting to know about for ages. At that, have we any idea how the magankoroshi given to Tohno Shiki by Aoko works? By implication it'd mean that Touko has some sort of magan, but we never hear of it except for her sharp change of personality. Cornelius really doesn't interest me, too obsessive, even if we give him history I doubt it'll do much good. More about Araya would always be good though. That said, considering the length that they are implying that he has lived, I doubt the Araya at London is very much different than the one present. Touko did note how dangerous the other two of the trio are to Kokutou. Satsuki's presence in chapter 6 was most intriguing, just randomly showing up and being one of the most influential characters in the book is something. You are right though, the real conclusion of any kind occured in chapter 6, chapter 7 was pretty much just one to tie up the loose ends and give us one last replay on how all the events culminate in the Shiki now. Shame the movie really had no way of being like that even if they had followed the novel closer.

He's a native English speaker. As for the other shows, Heroman is pretty amusing in an old-school superhero kind of way. Arakawa Under the Bridge is still a 'maybe' for me, going to see how Ep.2 is. Mayoi Neko Overrun looks pretty awful, and I'll probably drop it if Ep.2 isn't good. I enjoyed Mayoi Neko Overruns first episode, but I enjoyed To-Love Ru so the subtle hints that it was done by the same guys made me laugh, it's the kind of comedy that I find quite funny and I'll be looking forward to more of it. :>

Shame the movie really had no way of being like that even if they had followed the novel closer. I don't know how it works, and Touko does not have the magan, I believe, but she came within inches of the kongen, and had like a number of herself researching simultaneously, so it wouldn't surprise me if she was able to brush the surface and figure out "a way." She obviously knew enough about the kongen to know she wouldn't ever "crack" it, which implies a heavy amount of research. The thing with Araya though, is that we have his initial life, his life as a buddhist monk, then his life as a magus and then his life researching the kongen. There has to be a change when he realizes the closest he'll get to it is the kigen, which leads to KnK. It'd be fascinating to see him before and after the change. The implication I get is that they were a rival-like trio before two changes (Touko surpassing Cornelius, and Souren realizing he won't ever reach the kongen); well, the magus society is interesting :p I got a bit into Fate/Zero, but the Matou household annoyed me ;d

Other shows i started this seasons are Arakawa Under the Bridge ... well this is basicly the same as Bakemonogitari and Senkou no Night Raid which im not really impressed so far. Giant killing looks interesting and Hakuoki is kinda ok. I love samurai animes and the animation style is preety cool. Oh and Angel beats but im not really a big fan of it. Started it because i saw it was so hyped but cant really see why its so popular.. probably gonna drop it. Thank god I watched 2 episodes of first season of K-ON so im not even bothering with this one. Geting tired of theese moeshit animes they make em many per season... kinda frustrating ![]()

It's written by Maeda Jun (Air, Clannad, Little Busters). That's why it was hyped. The interesting thing, personally, is that the majority of Little Busters was actually not that good - it was mostly the primary plot "twist" of the story, as well as the characters, that made it "good". And the manga that he wrote isn't really anything to talk about. Considering he's said to have passed on the reigns of writing at Key, it's an interesting crossroads - this may be his last big work, but two of his last two works were like 50-50; flashes of brilliance along with meh-ness. Regardless, he's had a hand in three of the biggest and most popular "tearjerk" stories around, which is why Ecael and I mentioned, "it's written by Maeda Jun and that's reason enough." Might be for you, might not be. Air and Clannad (After Story included) were animated; Little Busters hasn't been animated, and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to be animated (storyboarding nightmare IMO), so yeah. If you liked them, you'll see why there was (and is) hype. If you didn't like them, chances are you won't like Angel Beat. If you didn't see them, that's that :p Edit: Also, thanks for reminding me about Rainbow, lol. It was uploaded to TT as "Rainbow Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin" so I completely missed it whilst waiting for "Rainbow."

Yeah, expectations are pretty high for this show. It hasn't really delivered yet, but honestly, I don't expect much until the second half of the series. The special also suggested something to this effect. You know how we were talking about MAL ratings a few pages back? Well, Disappearance is currently #1. Make of that what you will.

Watched Rainbow, thought it was okay. If there's one thing that kinda bugs me about the show, it's this: + Show Spoiler + ![]() ![]() Nothing's majorly wrong with this show though. Just out of curiosity, what time period is this supposed to take place in? Arakawa Under the Bridge is just bizarre, but it seems to work (so far, at least). It's also surprisingly cutesy at times. We finally get the OP and ED this week, and they're kinda... meh. Speaking of the OP, Renai Circulation, anyone? If one thing's for certain though, it's that this show has the best episode previews for this season. I'm having trouble getting rid of this mental image of Shiki every time Nino talks. =/ Kohaku? Is that you? ![]()
