If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

Agreed.

Hell, the show itself even agrees.

As an FYI, Koko doesn't expect it to change anything either. She just wants to shove a rod up the impending WWIII and also fuck with the entire world, because she hates how it's stagnating.

Also, what? She said nothing about people not fighting due to humiliation...

I had bad subs then.

That must be some ridiculously bad sub... time to learn Japanese

I think I'll settle for finding out which subbers are good or terrible. >.<

Lol... I see someone in irc saying "K got another season", I take it as a bad joke... find out it's true. Wtf. Really? :S That was quick. Show seems terrible of what I've watched.

Eh, I kinda liked K. It didn't feel like it took itself very very seriously for most part and their universe is pretty intriguing imo.

Well I dropped it quite early but from what I've heard it more or less lacks plot and character developement. But I guess I shouldn't take everything super seriously.

After like 4-5 eps it became clear they'd need more than an 1 cour season to properly develop plot and characters (as in the serious side of the series). The unserious part didn't really need more aside from Shiro and Neko getting non-plot screentime. It felt kinda inevitable that it'd get one, else I'd probably dropped it myself.

Imo check it out, but it might not work for everyone. That became pretty clear when I talked to ZNF about it. Still, the art is pretty~

Kaiji
+ Show Spoiler +
Why would you try to scam the king you idiot kaiji!!!??

Great anime all in all. The mind games or just kaiji's wits in general made this really interesting to watch, there wasn't a moment where I could with certainty predict what would happen. This coupled with great art and really fitting soundtracks made this a must watch for me.

Weird I never see this show recommended to people who look for recommendations from death note. Would imagine this is right up their alley.

Kaiji isn't that similar to Death Note. Sure, they both have psychological themes but I wouldn't group them together.

There is a season 2 btw. The first game arc there is the best one out of the 3 translated arcs of Kaiji imo (3rd "part" is manga only, 3rd season when!?!??!?!) but the second arc can be painfully slow. The second arc also goes away from the psychological aspect that the first season was filled with which the first arc still keeps to some extent. It becomes more about game than psychology there but it returns in the 3rd part.

Ok so I finally got around to finishing all of Season 3. It was... alright I suppose. Like, overall I still enjoyed it. But at the same time, you're kind left with the feeling maybe you could have spent your time catching up on something else.

It was kinda nice some of the tie-ins they had with the manga like the Kurotsubaki/Shirosakura and the spin on the Las Vegas trip. At the same time though, some of the other stuff from the manga like the Hina-Landmine just felt really strange cause it was so different. But I forgive everything cause Chiharu arguing about manga and games is cute~!

So yeah. It alright, but I think Season 1+2 was better.

Are you sure you aren't just being lenient because you got like some shots of Aika and Chiharu? Because it blew, even with random Maria-san and Hina fanservice.

Like remember talks of it being original content? I guess original content means rehashed old manga chapters!

I totally admit to being easily persuaded. I don't claim to be an intellectual consumer of media or some nonsense like that. I mean like I said, overall I can say I enjoyed it more than I didn't, but it still wasn't like good or anything. Maybe might have been better to finish of Chuunibyou I guess.

If you count things like Dolly and Ruri as OC well I guess that counts in a really loose way lol. Something proper OC like the Kuzuha arcs in Season 1 would have been nice though.

S1 was pretty much just pulling stuff out of its ass and managed to made something out of it lol. This is just the mangaka slacking so freaking much.

No Psycho Pass or Robotics;Notes this week... or, well, until like the 11th of January. I was aware of Psycho Pass but then I wonder why there's no Robotics;Notes episode, I realize both are by Production I.G and, well, I get sad... Q.Q

At least it's not until March like GuP.

They explain the basic rules if you go for Triad subs. If still clueless you can check out One Outs. It's pretty much Akagi playing baseball, so it's easier to understand. I suck at baseball rules but it was really easy to follow.
