Well dont now. If you saw brotherhood first you would probably think the original is complete shit after watching it.

List in spoilers, the time traveling/something close to time traveling is a spoiler for some I guess. + Show Spoiler + Higurashi Steins; Gate The girl who leapt through time Madoka Haruhi Jinsui (had like 1-2 episodes with it) Mirai Nikki edit: Latest SSY episode was probably one of the best episodes so far. This week's and the week before really repented for the episode before that, haha. Nice to see that there wasn't any derped visuals either (though there were a few odd movements, but meh, can't have it all).

After seeing Last Exile mentioned a bunch in this thread, I typed it into nyaa, grabbed the first torrent I saw, and started watching. I also read the posts about how it has a shitty sequel so I figured I'd just skip that. Well, long story short, I'm 19 episodes in and only just realized I've been watching the sequel series the whole time. Oops. On the bright side, I actually like it, and I have the original series to look forward to now too. ![]() Oh yeah, definitely watch Noein if you're looking for time travel-ish anime.

Him and his avatar in SAO/ALO are 99% the same (barring the wings and ears in ALO). Oh well, I'm glad they found out, was starting to get quite tired of that whole situation...

Jojo Part 1 is over. But I'm really really happy they're continuing with Part 2. I was hesitant that they wouldn't. Jojo transitions into anime have not always been very successful. I can't say much about how much viewership it got in Japan, but apparently it got enough to warrant a continuation.

+ Show Spoiler + Am I the only one that was bothered by Kirito simply ignoring the fact that he can turn into a monster? That probably might help fighting a zillion angel knights. Or even dual wielding that he showed 1 or 2 episodes ago. You would think in a typical show like this that since Alfheim is an entirely new world apart from SAO, he would have to learn the rules of the game and adapt to this new challenge in order to save the princess. Alfheim was explained in the show as having a magic-focused combat. But now it's just SAO with wings. At least he realized the fact that he's been breaking the rules, so we have a few episodes for him to shape up. Maybe it's the past MMO player in me or I've been watching this show for all the wrong reasons. Or the anime adaptation fails to explain these things.

Less a problem with anime though with all the service acting as distraction.

Did you not pick up the whole "turn into a monster" thing was illusion magic? Also, he only owns a single sword. I hate SAO more than the next guy, but its like you aren't even paying attention lol

As for the second point, you are right. I was just projecting myself onto him. It would occur to me that I'm much stronger dual wielding and perhaps, you know, buy a second sword. SAO had equipment shops where you could buy stuff, I assume Alfheim has them too. In this episode when he blocked the knight's sword with his hand, that could have easily been a second sword and would have saved him some health.
