Dunno about "best" but I'm really liking Tonari, Psycho-Pass, Magi. Latest episode of Shinsekai Yori was a bit of a drop in quality but except for that I like SY quite a bit too.

Going by the anime I can't imagine there's anything good in the VN. Or well, depends on whether you like twincest or not but beyond that... probably nothing.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I could tell it was going to be twincest after the first episode, but all my friends think I'm some sort of freak (which they might be right for other reasons lol).

It's pretty common that adaptations of VNs have less porn and I thought it was pretty close to porn. the anime anyway. Therefore, the vn probably has more porn.

Watching SAO, Robotics;Notes, Zetsuen no Tempest, BTOOOM! and Magi. And I think Zetsuen no Tempest it the best anime airing now.
Girls und Panzer is something I want to stay far away from. Watched the first episode when a friend of mine walked into my room and now he has an even more distorted view of anime :')

Its also pretty common that anime adaptations of eroges have significantly less amounts of porn than their source material. Thus, with that common factor of anime adaption of eroges in mind, combined with the amount of porn in the adaptation, you can probably assume that the VN would just be more incest porn.

The initial retort of RoieTRS made no sense tbh, and after that the discussion went into the gutter. Bottom line is that RoieTRS simply enjoyed the anime and thought the VN could be good. Sentenal gets too heated sometimes.

Yosuga VN was disappointing because it set up a fantastic setting and premise and wasted it. The anime tried to make the best out of it by pulling out all the pr0n but the VN (sora route) was basically... her being, what's the word in English, obsessively possessive? about him, and vice versa. Problem was that they set up a nice twin thing (equals!) but it ended up just being little sister-ness (not equals!) which was like blergh boring and unoriginal. Bad writers are bad writers.
For what it's worth, porn was medium-level aspect of the VN (it wasn't a nukige, IMO, anyways). It was just very... standard (all the characters are stereotypical and the route stories were stereotypical). But it was so fucking close. It wasn't a gakuenmono (big points from me for there) and pulled off the "living in a rural village" environment very well (one of the best actually). They just, couldn't, write, characters, and, good, route, stories. Fuck, that VN still pisses me off. How can you fail at the easiest part and pull off the harder parts so well? Arrrrrrrrrgh.

Are we having an argument over Yosuga no Sora of all things? Really (and the argument is NOT about how the supposedly more strict new Japan regulation somehow approved it) (or merit of incest pr0n, but that might actually be it)?
IMHO it's worse than Yoake Mae yori Ruriiro na, and I only played that to see what cabbage really look like.
