Yeah her character is like the most cliche part of it imo but meh they might make something decent out of it. That was my only compaint really (apart from that the way the psycho-pass system works is retarded, but that's not necessarily anything that makes the story itself bad). But at the same time, remove her and what do you have? As long as she doesn't stay this naive (but still doesn't lose her character entirely) it should be good imo. But we'll see.

Psycho-pass presents a brutal, dystopian future where an AI essentially decides who lives and dies, but the cops are still around to enforce those decisions. Akane, fresh out of the academy, is told by the grizzled veteran to forget everything she learned and face reality, which to him means just firing his gun at anyone the AI tells him to, even if it's a hostage. On her first mission, Akane chooses her own sense of morality over the AI, shoots her own guy, and saves the hostage. That takes some fucking guts so you've got to give her credit for that. She seemed like a pathetic, whiny protagonist, but her actions clearly show she has some character after all.

I normally enjoy reading things from an alternative perspective like this. Tho this hit above my tolerance threshold. I guess I made a mistake in the "How can anyone enjoy this comment" but it was more of me being snide. I can understand people are more tolerant to that shit in stories. Edit: Akane is so adorable. Hanakana only makes it double. That aside I liked the first episode of Psycho-Pass. It has a lot of potential, especially since the butcher himself has set up the story.
