If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.ggFor currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net |
+ Show Spoiler [kuroko no basket] +Awww Well I guess it's to be expected lol, they will have to go against the super trump card omniscient hyperspeed chess-playing genius clairvoyant king and the OP team, especially since the other one we mostly already know about and what have you. Should be an interesting finals I guess :X
+ Show Spoiler [Gantz] +zzz more of the same. This is like pseudo-philosophy you could look up online :S

Initial D stage 5 hype anyone?

Anyone read Giant Killing? It's a manga about football(soccer) and the main character is the manager. Really good read imo.

wha'. There's only one good seiyuu in Busou Shinki (two if you count Asumi Kana who I would say is good but not great).

On a similar note...
Out of the past however many seasons (couple years or so), do you think there were any shows memorable or good enough to add to the "recommendation list" up at the top of the thread? Obviously there were some good ones each season, but do you think any that will keep with you over the years?

To be honest I haven't seen any anime recently that struck me as must-watch material. Maybe people would disagree with me and say that Fate/Zero or others should be up there, but I haven't watched all of it yet so I can't make that judgment. I do have an itching to remove some of the anime on that list though, and would be glad to replace some with better, more recent anime, or just merely add anime if there's space under that specific genre.

I'm reading it and yes I am really liking it so far. Really manages to capture a football team and a football match well. Need to catch up to the latest translated chapters though.

Theres a few very good reasons most of those shows are not particularly recent, and its not just because the list is old or that recent anime are bad.
