You'll be stuck with those for a while, in Alternative you just have some other colors (so far, of what I've seen), in TE they look slightly different. The one Tsukiyomi (dno if I spelled that right) has looks better than the others imo.

Well the Go games in HnG are at least pretty coherent and like what one would expect to be seen by kids of that skill level, as opposed to the attacks/hands that you get from other sports anime

My point is that 99% of sports anime are dumb because the author has no idea what the hell they're talking about. I don't remember if HnG was actually realistic or just benefited from being based on a simple game (I don't remember any specific explanations of hands, just a lot of HOLY SHIT HE'S GOOD or OMG THAT HAND! without actually showing the board). The only one I can think of that used genuine hands was Shion no Ou, which came with full-page explanations of move history and such on a significant hand played during the chapter. HnG characters were incredibly generic though from a sports story standpoint. I prefer over the top "I don't give a fuck and I'm not going to act like I do" in stuff like Saki than stuff that attempts to be dramalala with hollow characters like HnG and such. Just a personal opinion *shrugs*

@ the earlier comment: the BETA in TE Ep 2 were spot on. If anything, I'm actually sad we won't get to see any more BETA in TE (at least that's what I assume, since it takes place in Alaska = no BETA (lol poor Canada)).
Just finished 100%-ing Katawa Shoujo - getting that last hard-to-reach scene was a tad obnoxious. I can see why people recommend this is an intro VN.
Enjoyed Emi and Lilly routes; thought Hanako actually made better progress in Lilly route than in her own route; Rin route: I spent most of the time looking forward to the next Emi appearance. Shizune was decent.
The part at about 0:28-0:29ish of this track still really reminds me of Kokiri Forest + Show Spoiler +

Hikaru no Go used professional games and had professional go players on staff to provide analysis and give direction. Im not saying there can not be a story, it just seems sad to me if "moe-ification" is really necessary to make an anime popular. In my mind, the value of the characters is in their ability to make me want to play it with the same passion they have (even if that is impossible).
I agree that Saki doesnt take itself seriously, I just used it as an example because to me it feels like if you cut out all the fluff the episodes shoot up a couple points in rating (mine at least).

The transparency isn't as noticeable with the purple/black ones imo.

Look silly Not noticable at all* with the non-trainee version. They give a BS reasoning for the white version being like that, like its supposed to help them get over being embarrassed over their body, to potentially get them ready for shared barracks/showers and shit on the front lines, but its still a BS reason.

For Saki, I usually don't mind the character development scenes crammed in here and there. It really depends on the characters though (eg. not Achiga).
I mean really, having cool hands/interesting plays is fine, but overall, having something to focus on other than the game is practically vital for a mahjong series. As far as story in a mahjong anime goes, it's always going to be the same old I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST shit. This means the characters are the ones who need to pick up the slack and make the series memorable. While I do enjoy stuff like Yumi's setups, in the end, I watch this show to see my favorite characters beat the crap out of everyone else.
If you're really only interested in strategy and such, you're probably better off observing a real game.

Just finished MuvLuv. Ill just write a few thoughts on it for those intrested
+ Show Spoiler +Muv Luv Extra was boring as fuck. Seriously it just a bunch of girls dicking around thats it. There wasent really anything good about it. Was just there to introduce you to the characters But they could of made those 12 or so hours more intresting. Muv Luv Unlimited- Alot better paced. You actually got a sense of progression...until you got ur mech and then it turns into spending 1on1 quality time with each girl. I also thought the ending wasent very enjoyable because it felt like a big romance drama. Which it was but still.... (That maybe a complaint only I have since Im not very much interested in romance unlike some people.)
Charaters Shirogane Takeru- This guy is dense, But thats pretty normal for MCs in this genre so w/e. Kinda cool how he was the best at using mechs because of his game playing,
Kagami Sumika-Probably most likable character in the game. She was cute and innocent in a charming way.. I found myself enjoying the interaction between her and Takeru. Was kinda sad she wasn't in unlimited but I could tell she didn't belong in it.
Mitsurugi Meiya-Didnt really care for her in extra. Thought she was just dumb. However when she wasent on ur dick in Unlimited she was very likable. She unlike Sumika really fits in Unlimited.Probably my favorite char in unlimited, except when you started a romance with her and she was on ur dick again.
Tamase Miki- Not much to say about her.She wasent annoying and a little cute.
Ayamine Kei- I tried hard to like her and shes probably my 2nd-3rd favorite main character. However all her thoughts being 3 words long made her pretty uninteresting.
Sakaki Chizuru-Bitch
Yoroi Mikoto-......
Jinguuji Marimo- Likeable motherly/teacher figure. Not much to say
Kouzuki Yuuko- Fucking hated this bitch in Extra. In unlimited she actually had some maturity so I didnt mind her.
Ninja maid was cool
All right that sums up pretty much everything. All in all it wasent worth to read this VN as a standalone. Im pretty confident that Alternative will be epic tho so I dont regret it. .
Edit- Also + Show Spoiler + How did it end in a cliffhanger? It seem pretty wrapped up to me except Alternative 4 and the brain bit which is obviously sumika or has something to do with her.

If that's all you have to say about Marimo, you should play her Extra route.

Cliffhanger might not be the best word for it, so much as "obviously unfinished/TO BE CONTINUED" Think along the lines of, say, Little Busters, Rin route
So many loose ends that have yet to be addressed + Show Spoiler [for example] +Alternative IV, actual combat, BETA, Kasumi/brain, Takeru ending up in this world , plus + Show Spoiler +not exactly a happy ending
Speaking of the ending, there's a pretty clear lack of effort: + Show Spoiler [lol recolor] +![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/hZfpF.png) (look at the heights)
P.S. Yuuko is awesome in MLA P.P.S. lol Marimo end in Extra

Just finished F/Z. Very satisfying.
Can't watch a lot, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend any amazing/must see anime in the past 2-3 seasons. Google isn't being too kind, and it would save me the effort of skimming through past few months of this thread.
