FWIW, I started Alternative on a Friday afternoon and spent literally the entire weekend glued to my computer screen. It was a weekend well-spent. As far as estimates for each portion, I read these numbers somewhere and generally agree: Muv-Luv Extra: 10 hours + 1-2 for each additional route Muv-Luv Unlimited: 10 hours + 30 mins for each additional "route" Muv-Luv Alternative: 40+ hours So at minimum, since Extra requires doing the 2 main routes to unlock Unlimited, that's about 10 + 1 + 10 + 40 = ~61 hours overall. The other 3 side routes in Extra are reasonably worthwhile for improving your Alternative experience so that's another 4-5 hours if you want to include those. Unlimited "routes" are just for completionists - it's the same overall ending, with the respective heroine copy-pasted in with the appropriate dialog tweaks (and the ending CGs are literally a hair recolor of the exact same scene lol) - don't bother unless you're OCD like me.
