Also, the episode was cool, had lots of Bright being awesome and some cool Cameos, but wasn't as good as the past few IMO. Those Asshimars were pretty cool, though. And dem Bits.

FA Unicorn next time.

And if that one nutcase comes back into this thread, and says something like "the fights has no suspense, because shit blow up when the director says so, and dodge beams when indefinitely when it suits otherwise" again, I'm gonna lose it.

Don't think I ever denied that Sent!

Think I'll dig up the books I downloaded for UC because the fight wasn't epic.

It is all the funnier when the praise is also mixed with comparison of how it is better than DtB and Index/Railgun. Kettle, pot.

Okay I look to Ecael as the patron saint of saying it is okay not to like grz and will say that I really didn't like all of it but especially first ep. Have had some bad experiences being the only one to have certain opinions about certain things so I'm always careful to tread carefully in order not to piss everybody else off

GRZ has an average idea and executes it by offing a more promising cast to bring in a stereotypical story with little in the ways of novelty both character or plotwise. The way it was handled wasn't entirely bad, but it isn't anything to go crazy over either.

why bother with UC books when u can read fantastic works like New Operation Gundam Wing: Frozen Teardrop

Featuring Father Maxwell and Wufei-sensei, and Heero being the exact same age and disposition!

I've never watched any Gundam.. where to start? From the very beginning (as in when it was made), or is it possible to start somewhere later? Sadly I'm not too good with very old anime...

Holy fucking shit, I just finished the Ever17 true ending(Coco route) and it was INCREDIBLE. Had to play through 4 not so great routes to get there but im glad I stuck it out. The way everything came together and explained all the on going mystery was just superb. Also I could have not asked for better closure, it was just perfect. I was surged with such satisfaction, it was amazing, I could barely contain myself.

What made the true ending so good was the set up.Every other play-through/route works to lead to the true end. They took all the endings of the other routes and intertwined it into an orgy of awesome. I had a plethora of questions playing through the prior 4 routes, but they all got answered eventually. The art felt at times inconsistent but it doesn't really detract from the experience too much. The soundtrack was well done I felt like, didn't enjoy it as much as the Key tracks but it did its job to set the mood. The intricacy of the plot was so good it blew my mind many a times.

On another note Blick Winkel you're a freakin hero. And Kurabaki Ryogo, you were so vital to the plan working out, Thank you.

TL;DR: Ever17 is a pretty good game, you should read it.

Congrats on finishing Ever17 :D

P.S. Title theme ;_; (in a good way)

In other news, d/l'd Gundam Movie Trilogy, so far finished the first movie. Just wondering, did TTGL draw inspiration directly from this? (as in, super-strong mobile fortress traveling through enemy territory while fending off various ambushes with their titular mecha) Pretty cool to see. Also Char seems like quite an interesting villain

Gundam invented the tropes that tons of anime still use. TTGL did draw some from Gundam, but most of its inspiration came from Gunbuster and Getter Robo.

Wait, you've never read Tsukihime? I mean go with whatever adt suggests (looks to be ever17, very hyped atm apparently ._.) but Tsukihime is actually pretty well-known and really nice, you should read it after ever17 :O

It is only really worth reading Tsukihime if you are willing to plow through all of the Type-moon materials where as Ever17 is perfect fine to read by itself. Practically go for Ever17, but if you have the time to kill (and dedication to plow through wiki and stuff for the things yet unfinished translation wise [cough Hollow cough]) then go for Tsukihime.

lol yeah, I've never read Tsukihime myself (have read few VNs) but I have a few friends who consider it their favorite VNs of all time; basically they tried to explain Tsukihime's premise and were failing at it...not sure whether it was because it was hard to explain/lots of relevant info or they just were bad at explaining (I feel like it was the former...it all sounded pretty confusing and I do remember the word Hollow thrown in there somewhere)

Premise is that a kid named Tohno Shiki goes back to his family's mansion, but he ends up getting caught up in the business of Vampires, those sent to slay the Vampires, and the dark past of his family (the extent of each varies depending on route). Its a good VN, although you can really tell its aged. I like Ever17 alot more.

As far as Hollow, its like a sequel to FSN. So its Type-Moon, and same universe, but as far as Tsukihime is concerned, irrelevant.

I liked Tsukihime enough to finish both the main heroine routes, but not enough to do the side routes. I liked Arcueid more than anyone from F/SN, but F/SN has a better cast on average and felt more like a game than Tsukihime.

It's a shame that Ever 17 has really bad pacing and you spend 2/3rds of the game just building up to the final route. It's totally worth it though.

Saya no Uta is awesome because you can finish the whole thing in the amount of time most VNs take just to complete an intro chapter. It really exposes how much filler there is in even the highest rated VNs.
Of course, you only live one life, and you make all your mistakes, and learn what not to do, and that’s the end of you.

Dammit having some technical issues with Saya no Uta. The game didnt even install? Is that normal? It opens up and then my mouse jumps around like its tripping around on acid. When I manage to click on start, it opens up the forward/rewind menu and whenever I close it, it just reopens. Really annoying >.<. This is pretty much unplayable

Ah, I see...thanks! All he got around to explaining was something about seeing death lines and how touching them would cleanly slice that portion off of people tbh (and then upgrade to some advanced death line reading thing). Wonder where his priorities were, maybe overexposure to mainstream level-up battle animes because that's what it sounded like -.-

If saya no uta is that short, I might seriously consider going through it :3

Well, that's part of it, but its explained early on. That's the part that makes Shiki special. The story focuses on his interactions with the elements I mentioned earlier, though. So obviously being able to see the death of things comes into play and is a significant plotpoint, but its not like the story is about his eyes.

There are 5 routes in the game. The first 2 routes are alot different than the last 3.

Btw, apparently Saya no Uta is really fucked up.

Hm...interesting enough I suppose. ><

And yeah, I just looked up Saya no Uta because I have 0 self-restraint, and....the story really creeps me out lol. All of the endings seem like bad endings too T____T I guess you sympathize with Fuminori/Saya as you progress through the VN, but just reading the synopsis and endings, it seems really creepy...I might have nightmares ;; once had nightmares for 3 days running after watching trailer for I think the American version of ju-on T__T save meee
