Darker than Black, Hei. I think he fit your criteria rather well as a BAMF.
Theres lots of shows like that :O, personally I like Revy (Black Lagoon), Jo Joestar (jojo's bizzare adventure) pretty badass. Kazuma (Scryed) isnt half bad either I think alot of adrenaline activating gatai type mecha shows have quite of few them aswell but I dont really know any.
Is Hei really a consistent badass, I dont know if you can be badass and spend more than half a season brooding ?
Revy isn't the MC of Black Lagoon. That honor falls to Rock, who is a different level of badass, especially once you get to the Roberta Blood Trail OVA. Black Lagoon has a whole cast of badasses though, so it's still a good recommendation overall.
Kazuma of Kaze no Stigma is definitely a MC that isn't a pussy. He's powerful, saves the girls, and doesn't spend half a season moping around. The anime isn't great, but it's a somewhat recent show that is still fun to watch.

well yeah, but I watched the show for her, Rock grows into his own much later and I dont like his kind of badassery anyway. Its not well executed for me. And to be honest Blood trail was a bit of a let down for me in some ways. Probably because there wasnt enough Revy v Roberta for my liking.

I've said this before, but one of the advantages for liking hot blooded mecha anime, is that I normally don't have to worry about a beta MC. There aren't many times when mecha will give me a Shinji Ikari, so the "worst" you will get is an Amuro clone, who are pretty much required to man-up and become a badass by the end. And then in other shows you have your Guy Shishiohs, Nagare Ryomas, and Kabuto Koujis, who are badasses throughout the entire show.

Kaze no Stigma was by far the best series I've seen as far as badass main characters go, although the annoying pink-haired girl pissed me off sometimes. It definitely wasn't the best show (Deathnote IMO wins the honour of badass+great series) but it was fun to watch as you said.

Yea, Blood Trail didn't really match the pacing of the first two seasons of Black Lagoon. I honestly thought the ending was totally underwhelming. It's a shame that we won't be getting any more Black Lagoon, since the mangaka is rumored to be on an indefinite hiatus from the project
Souske from Full Metal Panic! is another strong male MC, but he spends way too much time moping around in the Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid though.
Best badass MC in my opinion is Edward Elric from The Full Metal Alchemist. He's a good lead in both the original series and Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Brotherhood is better after the first 15 episodes though, so if you haven't watched either I would go for that.
Kaze no stigma for the first 3 episode felt like it could of been the best anime in the world then it just spiral down hill after that and it never got back up

Btw, it was Kaal and Harem who defeated Ferrose at two separate battles, although there were several other champions involved. Harem was the one who temp banned him after ZNF's Ano Hara post, so he should get credit for the victory.
Gundam AGE Generation 2 starts this week, in case anyone was waiting for that to marathon Generation 1 or something.
Is Gundam AGE worth watching at all? I saw some shots and it seems like a kiddy show.

It is rather young (I think Sunrise aimed for a younger age-group so they can keep the franchise popular), however it deals with a lot of issues you wouldn't think the characters would be able to, and it does it well. Give it a shot and I'm sure you'll get hooked, I thought exactly what you did but then it got me xD.
Well I can't seem to find working links to the latest 4 Guilty Crown episodes so I'm looking for a new show. Needs bad-ass MC though. no beta plz!
Gundam AGE is "kiddy" due to some character design, but other than that, its fairly vanilla as far as Gundams go. Not great, not bad, although the climax of Generation 1 was done well IMO. There was only 1 arc in AGE so far that really dragged, but overall it was ok. The biggest draw on the show will be how well it handles the transition between Generations, and how it all flows together.

Try baka-updates.com? Google the CRC code and I am sure they are somewhere... there are at least two groups subbing Guilty Crown.
