If you come in here looking for "anime recommendations" then please refer to this chart before posting: Anime Recommendations (as of may 2014). We also have an IRC channel called #tladt where we all hang out. The channel is on Rizon, not QuakeNet! Feel free to check it out. TLADT discord is Discord.gg

For currently airing anime, please see Anichart.net

You people are late to the game about Fate/Zero being split into two. I got depressed over that back when the season started lol.

As for Horizon, according to some /m/ post the next season is planned for April or something. I'm more concerned about Horizon's 2nd season than F/Z's. Sunrise doesn't have a good track record for splitting up anime into part 1 and 2.

I just hope it doesn't end up like Gundam SEED/00 and their season 2

Gundam SEED wasn't broken in half. Destiny isn't a part of SEED anymore than Zeta Gundam is part of 0079. It was 00 and Geass that Sunrise fucked up with splitting them.

I'm really surprised at how many people here didn't know F/Z was getting split in half lol.

pretty boring chapter and focuses too much on what's her name. At least Hina got some nice screen time. and YES putting an egg in after boiling packaged ramen then eating it straight from the pot! More so because I'm lazy and don't want to wash more dishes but at least Hina understands me

Enjoy the three month wait for the second half.

Edit:
Horizon's got a similar issue, it's "ending" at ep 13 and we have no idea when the second half (or more) will be.

I suppose most people who watch horizon without knowing the source material have problems understanding it anyway.

Only problem is that people like me would request references for stuff like that.

Yeah, I'm not sure about some of them, but there's plenty of places out there where it's popped up. Robin Williams has gone on record saying his favorite series is NGE, Daniel Radcliffe liking Hajime no Ippo is from an interview, Keanu is a big driving force behind the live action Cowboy Bebop, and Christian Bale voiced Howl in Howl's Moving Castle. I'm sure some quick Google magic can pick up some of the other ones.

Edit:

It also doesn't surprise me when actors/celebrities are avid gamers or anime/manga/comic fans. When they play roles such as wizards, superheroes, ghosts, angels, and stuff like that, how odd is it to look past the medium and enjoy a story?

Tobey Maguire liking Robotech isn't a surprise to me. IIRC he was involved in the makings of a Robotech Live Action movie that was being talked about at one point. Although, as with virtually every Robotech release since 1985, its either going to be a while before release, or the project will die in its early stages.

I think there's also a big difference between admitting to liking a few anime that are well known and fairly popular and people in this thread who actively follow ongoing anime, play VNs, etc. Most people will probably admit to seeing and enjoying a few names but the "weird niche" that most of society associates with anime is when a person will actually prefer watching anime over "normal" stuff and enjoy discussions about it rather than "cooler" topics. It's the difference between having done something a few times in the past and currently and actively engaging in it as a hobby. So basically, few people will fault you for saying "I liked x anime" but once you say "I like to watch anime in my free time," then there's something wrong with you.

That's very true and people watching anime isn't really anything special anyway nowadays. If you ask a college student if (s)he has seen any Miyazaki movie (and enjoyed it) the chance is quite big you will get a yes, and from my experience it is not uncommon that they've seen something else as well.

So unless you try to defend watching large amounts of the more "geeky" anime you should be safe unless you are around people I prefer to avoid. And I'm not sure that picture helps if you want to defend a more in-depth interest.

Good points. I generally just point out "normal" stuff like Cowboy Bebop or Kenshin, stay away from anything that's too out there when asked. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, I also don't talk about some of the weirder games that I play (Bayonetta, I'm looking at you) in lieu of more "acceptable" games like SC2, Halo, or Metal Gear.

I don't really care about having a social stigma, but it occasionally does make things easier if you don't seem too weird

Chihayafuru 11:

Everytime I play a new ep of Chihayafuru I dont have any expectations. Because of this, I find myself constantly blown away by the sheer amazingness that this anime has to offer. I teared up a little during this episode, it really hit home, it was so well done. The way they touch base with all the characters you cant but help feel sympathetic for all of them. Very few animes Ive watched were able to capitalize on that.

I am certainly happy that this anime will have a full season. What I am praying for is that it wont end up like Hanasaku Iroha: start off strong the first half, then have the gap filled with filler/background characters, then finish off a bit lackluster.

Heres for hoping...

I actually connected because of how they portrayed going to nationals. Kind of reminds me of the times in high school when our team would go to a national tournament....not in Karuta of course.

lol. If I did write it, who should be on my team? Maybe I'll write it about how TLADT forms a team and we become a group of inseparable friends and end up winning....some team tournament in BW or something.

Well, it's another chapter about explaining an absurd game. However, is it just me, or would other people actually play some of these? Bid poker sounds pretty fun.

Odd to not see Akiyama jump at the mock game. I'm sure he already has a plan, though.
