Yeah it's not one of those animes where you just follow a simple story but rather it's pretty dialog driven. Personally I enjoyed the hell out of it. Well after all the action and commotion for the past few weeks, we get a somewhat slow chapter this week. Nothing much happens except for the phone call which spells "complications" for the future of Keima. I don't get why people hate on Season 2 of DtB so much. I don't think it was so bad. Sure it was cliche because of the story, but God damn it people, just what excatly were you expecting? I think it would have been off much worse if it just followed random cases around for another season. For me the real trainwrek was Ryusei no Gemini where the protag lost his powers. It became really uninteresting after that. Taking care of the kid, training her like an assassin. Felt like a bad rip-off of the movie "Leon the professional" except there was no deeper meaning and the "pro" was a fucking drunkard and beat the kid. | ||

It has a direction within the anime but there are lot of omitted information far as the settings go, so you'll have to piece that out. Thematically it is pretty consistent throughout the whole anime, so imo it has a pretty clear direction. Bake drives plot with conversation, but it keeps a pretty consistent theme throughout the whole thing. It is just easy to ignore the more serious parts because of the amount of humor that gets thrown around. | ||
