I've only seen a few shoujo animes (Natsume Yuujinchou, Escaflowne, Jyu Oh Sei) come to mind. If I didn't know better I wouldn't have even classified these as shoujo's. No cheeky love stories and such on Natsume and Jyu. Even Escaflowne has mechs and war with a love story.. And I have to say that shoujos are often better than shounens, theres bound to be less action but just about everything else is better. | ||

I dont think its a problem personally.. Ive often fallen into Shoujo anime early on without even knowing it was shoujo or josei for that matter.. Madoka it rests to be mentioned is not that.. but yeah Kimi no Todoke, Ouran or even that Ouran knockoff what was ittt.. uhh Special A ? I think they're fine.. I dont criticize people for watching Jersey Shore, doesnt mean I dont think its garbage yeah ? | ||

At least, the anime isn't. I think they made a shoujo manga about it though lol | ||

Unless you mean in the sense that both Ouran and Special A are terribly generic shoujo manga that follow pretty much every single shoujo stereotype. Was the BL obvious? it's been a few years since I saw it so I hope not. I mean there was a girl he was definitely after and there was also that one girl who was after him as well. BL doesnt neccessarily equal Shoujo never will | ||
