It just show Lambda mode imba-ness and reflect stuff which still doesnt make physical sense.
What I am mainly complaining about is the action. Such as when they fought that big red robot with the lambda mode destroying the town. He got shot once in the groin and that was it. Or when Gouren and the main guy fought in the forest for the first time and they "killed" him then. All you saw with them lambda mode and ramming into each other. It was really quiet sad. Or when the American team and the main character tried to assasinate Gouren and they got owned by the Red AS and Gouren. Gouren just reflect stuff back and kill people and they didnt even care to show the Red AS guy fight.....
The only fight that was semi interesting was when Gouren first fought against that blonde guy and that was when Lambda first made it appearances and the other would be the Captain Tessa vs Mao in a bet.....those were the only fight that was actually strategical and interesting.
What I am asking is is that where are the knife fight eh? They have knife, they should atleast have a more choreographed fight or something. Or atleast show some more interesting battles. Is the series ever going to show more better choreographed fight? I love the comedy and the character developement but this is starting to disappoint me as mecha anime.
+ Show Spoiler +I wouldnt watch it with the idea of watching a great mecha anime in mind... its more the comedy and slice of life aspect that most people like, the story which alot of people consider run of the mill was was pretty decent back in the day.. the action is more like a bonus although th e conflict is ofcourse the crux of the story line I even remember going nuts on the internet looking for the novels and begging the guy who dropped translated it to keep going when he stopped.. the char developement also gets really good..

Mecha anime isn't all about action. Anyway, Fumoffuu (season 2) is 100% comedy, and doesn't really continue the story, so if you want to get to really good mecha stuff, The Second Raid is really good in that respect, and continues the story.

space opera's anyone.. no anime can be just about action, but if your looking for a show thats centered more around mecha action why not just watch gurren lagan over and over again...

I am not really centered around the action but I am just sayin, that this series has the potential and the element to incorporate better mecha battle but chooses not to. I seriously dont see the reason not to make the mecha fight better. They have the material to do so and the setting to do so.
Also, what do you think of the word "mecha." The word will definitely respond to robot or a some what advance futuristic world. If you have robot, what are you going to do with the robot? Make them have Tea party? No, they are going to freakin fight lol. For a series to be called mecha, they will have to have robot or a somewat advance futuristic world and what they choose to do with these robot is entirely up to the director but 99% of mecha series will make the robot beat the crap out of each other. What else are they going to do with robot? If they are going to make them fight, atleast make the fight some wat more interesting, there really no reason not to make them more interesting.
They dont have to be soo technical like Gundam series and say all those techmo gismo language. They just need to be like Code Geass. Code Geass mecha never really explain the indepth of the mecha fight and their function but I would say that the fight were choreographed pretty damn good. Obviously it does not have to be anywhere near as flashy though.
What I am trying to say is that I dislike the lack of effort they put into the mecha fight at all even though its a mecha series. I will continue to watch the rest either way.

personally I found the mecha choreography perfectly satisfactory. atleast thats what I remember.. but im not much of a mecha guy.. atleast not for the battle choreography..

I will continue to watch the rest either way. First season was a bit lacking in terms of cool fights, plus I don't like the AT-Fields in general in FMP, but like I said, The Second Raid steps it up in terms of cool battles. Gonzo (I think they did season 1) didn't do nearly as good of a job with the fights as KyoAni does with TSR. When/If they decide to continue FMP, there is alot of cool shit in the LNs that are right around the corner, and just is begging to be translated into eye candy.
Also, did you know that in one of the best Gundam shows ever made, they use the title Gundam as both a Washing Machine and a Livestock transporter in certain episodes? It may not be a Tea Party, but lol.

Its tough for KyoAni to fail on animation. how much more you think they could make of FMP?

You mean, how many more seasons? The Season 1 and TSR covered up to End of Day by Day, which is like Volume 3 or 4 of the LNs, right? And there are a total of 12 (I think) LNs. So there is plenty more FMP that could be done. If they ever get done making Lucky Star clones, that is.

any idea where I could get the tl's for the last 2 ? I remember them saying they might give it a go once the L/N series is done.. frankly I wouldnt mind.. theres way to much recyclable stuff (a point that also keeps getting recycled)

Personally i'm fine with more slice of life but being one of the better animators out there I would like to see them do some action of some sort.

well Nichijou was a step up from a lot of the recent slice of life since lucky star for me..

I will continue to watch the rest either way. FMP is a strange blend of mecha and slice of life. So yeah, a good deal of the series is going to be focused on the characters themselves as opposed to the action. In any case, not like any major battles happen until Continuing On My Own. Even Ending Day by Day/TSR had its highlights I suppose. Heck, all the other books past that point have cool battles since the slice of life takes a backseat to the plot. But this stuff is never gonna get animated as long as Kyoani keeps rolling in the cash. -_-

I dislike the idea that someone dislikes FMP because of lack of eyecandies. When people want eye candies, they shouldn't be watching anime. They should be reading the LNs and let imagination take over.
zzzzzz
