Ferrose: So few people actually watched Hourou Musuko. It was brutally unappreciated. I'll be surprised if even a third of the people here even watched it. Yeah, it got like record low ratings. But quite a few of us here have actually seen it. We have some tasteful posters in the ADT B) At least the manga has an official hardcover coming out. Still, its sad that people saw the premise and went 'ew I'm not watching that.' Haven't seen it in this thread, but I've sure seen it a lot at other places. Its funny. The non-trans people I recommend it to won't watch it for that reason, and the trans people won't watch it because of the abundance of triggers. There wasn't much talk about it because well...we couldn't find much to talk about with that show But I don't know why you'd be turned off on the show because the protag likes the crossdress. It's a wonderful discussion on gender. A lot of people don't really like genderbender stuff in general. I guess it's a matter of comfort or something, I dunno. It's unfortunate, considering how well Horou Musuko addresses all those issues.
my problem with horou musuko was that it kind of started in the middle of the manga? so I felt like i missed half of the story and eventually dropped it but if you guys say it was still good then I will give it a try again

Not the whole comedy vs slice-of-life thing again. What is this, every anime community ever?
I'll just pull this chart out of my ass.

Not even sure how hard of a concept it is to understand that anime fall under more than one category.

Higurashi's four-fingered hand scares me for some reason.
What is that Caller?

What is that Caller? http://alicesoft.wikia.com/wiki/Daiteikoku
Daiteikoku (lit "Big Empire"), is the third game in the "Dai-" series after Daiakuji and Daibanchou. It's a space-themed parody of WWII. If you're unfamiliar with the makers, same as Sengoku Rance, Beat Angel Escalayer, and Big Bang Age.

Just watching Azumanga Daioh again and it's still unrivaled to me when it comes to random comedy (apart from jungle wa itsumo hale nochi guu).
As I've been taking an almost 2 year break from anime now, is there anything new that's worth recommending? Has to be comedy or lighthearted though... life is stressful enough lately, need something to lighten up
Edit: Can be anything from the past 2 years. If it's older or just about 2 years old, chances are high I've probably seen it already.

Well the fact that the chart itself is divided with one side categorized as slice of life and the other side as comedy, shows that they are polar opposites and they can't go hand in hand So apparently, if it is solely slice of life, then it can't have any comedy

Well, if we look at the examples...
I'd say yeah. Of course, the entire point of the chart is to show that most are both.

If that was the case, then it should be a x-y plot line graph to show both qualities Slice of life on one axis and Comedy on the other This way you can equally be able to represent the amount of comedy and slice of lifeness

The fact that Hellsing Ultimate Episode 8 is not released makes me go crazy. WTF is with that?
