I'm a fan of long hair, so Nami increased a bit on the hot meter. Robin has always been the hotter of the two for me and still delivers. Will be interesting to see what Robin has learned over the two years, as the place she was headed had some of the most potential for interesting story information. Usopp apparently doesn't suck (as much) anymore, which is nice. Still a moron, shown when he saw fake sogeking. Chopper is his same old, clueless self as well. Remember that he can shapeshift, so even if his small form is the same, he could be hiding other stuff. It seems unlikely that he'd have control over his super-giant form at this point. That'll likely come later, if it all, but his rumble mode is most likely improved (or always on, or something else to that effect). Brooke being on a music tour as the king of soul is just all sorts of hilarious and awesome. Sanji looks to be unchanged. Likely just new moves... though I wonder if his fighting style is gonna be hilarious (new-kama and all that). Zoro also seems to be very similar, scar aside. Those two were always the strongest fighters of the crew along with Luffy so it'll be interesting to see what they have in store. And of course Franky looks the most different, but he's likely the same old Franky, now with 140% more cola and tea! Probably the thing I like most about One Piece as opposed to a lot of other shows, anime, manga, whatever is that it doesn't really rush. It has a story to tell and it doesn't seem to give a shit how many episodes it takes to tell it. It just tells the story at its own pace until it's complete and when its time to move to the next thing, it moves on. The "fillers" are usually good too. The world is compelling enough that when a filler of some kind is used to fill out the world more, it's generally interesting even when minimal main characters are part of it. Rushing from fight to fight with no backstory or depth leads to a pretty shallow experience. While part of that longterm design can be the comfort of success, knowing that there's money to take the time needed, there are things from the very, very beginning that pointed to this thought process right from the start (Dragon saving Luffy, Mihawk's early appearance, and other examples). I also love the devil fruits and all the crazy things they allow (bubble fruit, wax fruit, etc.). The series doesn't even try to emulate real life which liberates it to allow all sorts of crazy shit in its world. Quite refreshing when we're otherwise inundated with a bajillion different takes on our own planet and games that insist on having RL physics and useless, boring shit like that. | ||

We see Luffy using haki and the fake one said Luffy's bounty is now 400m. ARGH Choper is geting on my nerves.... I love Franky's new look ( most ppl are disapointed wtf ) and Zorro looks so good now (but probaly has one eye or he got himself a sharingan XD ) and slicing the ship in half :D | ||

+ Show Spoiler + Even after reading the spoilers and knowing about how Zoro cut the ship in half, I still find myself laughing as I actually read it. It's a bit mean but Zoro may be doing those pirates a favor, if they can't prevent him from cutting the ship in half as easily as he did they probably have no place going to the new world. The talk about fate is interesting but Zoro has always been that way, the fact that he got lost and got on that ship in the first place is just showing that hes the same kind of character. I like the setup for next chapter with the fake strawhats and the marine all converging in the same spot, it's likely that the rest of the strawhats will show up there too and we'll get the big reunion next chapter followed by the strawhats roflstomping all of them for the next 2 or 3 chapters after that. I don't think Oda will show off too much of their new skill sets so it might be a bit brief. | ||

Anyway, good chapter. I was a little afraid Franky would suck ass, but he looks awesome. Zorro sure is as awesome as ever :p The only thing that got me worried is chopper. This might still turn into "look for chopper/rescue him" mini arc and we can't forget that Brooke is still doing his concert thingy. Can't wait for everyone to meet up and celebrate. | ||
